Three rounds in three weekends?

Screw that. Texas says says make it four rounds in three weeks with a double-header this weekend.

Weekend American TV schedule (local race times):
Saturday May 1 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM ET Practice
Saturday May 1 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM ET Qualifications
Saturday May 1 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM ET Race - 212 Laps | 300 Miles https://www.indycar.com/Schedule/2021/I ... exas-Race1
Sunday May 2 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM ET Race - 248 Laps | 375 Miles https://www.indycar.com/Schedule/2021/I ... exas-Race2

The Indycar app has the first race starting at 9:30am Sunday AEST, and the second race Monday 7:10am AEST.

Shame the sticky compound destroyed this place. From biblical races in 2018 and 2019 to whatever the hell last year was.

CET times. I usually make these for the Swedish Indycar podcast I'm in so why not share here too.

I have some serious complaints about those start times.

Will Power has had some words of advice for Scotty Mac as he heads into his first oval race.

Power had his own problems getting to grip with Ovals and Superspeedways.

It took him four years after his first oval start to claim his first win on a Superspeedway.
His advice....
“Don’t take any risks, don’t put yourself in a situation that you don’t know what a car will do, don’t try the outside,” Power said

“Just be very mindful of the speed that you’re doing and what could happen. As we saw with [Robert] Wickens, you cannot underestimate how dangerous a Superspeedway can be. You’ve got to be mindful of that.

“After a while, things slow down for you. You kind of forget the speed you’re doing. You know pretty quickly how fast you’re going when you’re heading for the wall, put it that way.”

This is one of the super weekends - F1, IndyCar and MotoGP all packed in! I suppose the Saturday race will start ca. twenty past the hour?

Plus Donington Historic Festival.... (which I am watching atm)
There is actually a 1954/5 Indycar running in the pre 1966 Grand Prix cars (virtue of the Indy 500 being part of the World Championship back then.

Qualifying cancelled due to rain. Practice to start in 10 minutes. Race to start at 6.10 local time. 20 minutes ahead of previously announced time.

I'll try and catch the tape delay.

Apparently the Kentucky Derby starts at 6:57 pm so they can't put IndyCars any sooner than 7:10 pm. 50 minutes to green flag.

With two races in two days, you know people are surely going to tear some equipment up. Question is whether it's today or tomorrow. Presumably they'll try to keep it cleaner today.

Race underway with Dixon taking the lead ahead of Palou, Power Herta and Harvey.

Starting grid was set by championship position.

21 minutes in and we're a quarter of the way through the race.

Everyone holding station.

Big risk of rain cutting the race short, so no one is doing anything risky.

Chrome horned by Newgarden.

That would have been a broken vertebrae in IRL days, even with SAFER barrier.
