RLL aims to run 5 or 6 races with that 3rd car this year, so Ferrucci has probably given up on Indycar totally just yet.MonteCristo wrote: ↑3 years ago Gather your pitchforks, it's Ferrucci time at Indy with Rahal: https://racer.com/2021/04/05/ferrucci-t ... rll-entry/

Cool, good to hear. Irrespective of the driver, extra cars are always welcome. Hopefully somebody like an Askew gets some extra seat time.Cheeveer wrote: ↑3 years agoRLL aims to run 5 or 6 races with that 3rd car this yearMonteCristo wrote: ↑3 years ago Gather your pitchforks, it's Ferrucci time at Indy with Rahal: https://racer.com/2021/04/05/ferrucci-t ... rll-entry/

Oh hell yes.IndyCar renews global broadcasting presence for 2021
IndyCar is ramping up its international broadcasting fingerprint for 2021 so more countries will be able to follow their favorite driver in the NTT series.
Existing and renewal partnerships will bring the action of the series and its defiant athletes to Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Nordic countries, Latin America, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. New broadcast partners in other nations and regions will be announced soon.
Coverage will also increase in some nations, such as Australia, where Fox Sports Australia and Kayo will broadcast practices, qualifying and live telecasts of every race to fans eager to follow Australian Will Power and three-time Australian V8 Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin of New Zealand. Sky Sport will continue to be the broadcast partner in New Zealand, focusing on Kiwi sporting legend and six-time series champion Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing.
GAORA SPORTS will continue coverage in Japan, which has a passionate IndyCar fanbase that follows reigning and two-time Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge winner Takuma Sato of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
France’s CANAL+, the Netherlands’ Ziggo Sport and Viaplay in the Nordic countries also are back to support their countrymen competing in the series.
Sky Sports F1 will televise IndyCar in the United Kingdom, a hotbed of passionate racing fans.
Additional 2021 renewals include Supersport, which covers South Africa and pan-sub-Saharan Africa, and Viasat Sport East in Russia, which has broadcast IndyCar events since 2013.

About time they are prioritizing international viewers in any way, shape or form. Hopefully the broadcasts will be better suited to us also, and no more of these static helicopters views during US ad breaks.
I also had the pleasure of speaking with Bobby Rahal the other day. Was a fun chat! Feat. a small bird, lol.

Glad you found it interesting! Yes, Bobby came across as very humble. When he tells the story of Truesports' rise to fame, he never once says that part of the success was because of his driving! I think that was a big part of it TBH.

Indeed.....Jim Trueman was quite an asset.....to Indy car racing as a whole, also.
Excerpted from Wikipedia:
"Auto racing
Trueman began driving sports cars in 1962. He entered the Can-Am series and drove through the 1970s. He won 125 races in 23 years. He was the SCCA national champion in 1975 and 1978.
Team owner
Trueman used his riches from the motel business to expand his auto racing interests. He signed on Red Roof Inns to sponsor Vern Schuppan in the 1981 Indianapolis 500. Schuppan finished a strong third. In 1982, Trueman switched from Can-Am to CART and experienced instant success.
In 1985, Trueman was diagnosed with cancer. He kept his illness secret for many months. At the 1986 Indianapolis 500 Trueman spent the entire month of May at the track, but was visibly frail and quiet. The race was originally scheduled on his 51st birthday, but rain delayed the race. Bobby Rahal's car was fitted with a "Happy Birthday JRT" decal to celebrate. The following Saturday, May 31, 1986, the race was finally run. With two laps to go Rahal passed Kevin Cogan on a restart, and held on to win. The emotional Rahal nearly broke down in victory lane.
In victory lane, Trueman stood up and took the traditional milk for winning Indy. Several years later, ABC television reporter Jack Arute revealed that Trueman whispered in his ear "I can go now."
On Thursday June 5, 1986, five days after the victory, the city of Columbus held a victory parade downtown. Trueman was too sick to attend. Six days later he died."
(Anyone remember his driving a Cobra in a support race at the first races (F5000 the main event) at Long Beach in '75 to qualify the circuit for the F1 race in '76?)
Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.....
