Ain't there a rule to get the bike back to pitlane/parc ferme within a certain time frame post race? Not quite sure, I may mix it up with superbikes/supersport

Rosso fell at few laps to go while leading and handed the win to marquez. What a pity, there could have been a nice duel for the win

Avintia Ducati rider Xavier Simeon will not take part in his final MotoGP race at Valencia, having been declared unfit after a couple of crashes in Friday practice.
Simeon crashed at the end of FP1 and had to be escorted off-track by marshals, the Belgian then going to hospital with a suspected concussion.

He ended up taking part in FP2 , finishing 11th, even though he fell again at Turn 12.

Simeon has been subsequently declared unfit ahead of Saturday's running, and the Belgian will miss the final race of his rookie season as a result.

On the other hand Lorenzo is running for once.

Pramac Ducati's Danilo Petrucci topped the Saturday morning MotoGP practice at Valencia as Valentino Rossi crashed and was resigned to Q1 alongside Maverick Vinales and Jorge Lorenzo.
After a fully wet Friday, FP3 also kicked off on a soaked track - but with no rain falling, improving on Friday times seemed possible.

However it started raining almost immediately and the field, with the exception of Marc Marquez, couldn't get close to the Honda rider's Friday benchmark of 1m39.767s for the majority of the session.

Rossi led the way early on while times were in the 1m41s region, but the Yamaha rider's progress was soon halted with a highside crash at Turn 4.

Marquez took over at the top and held a comfortable lead for a big part of the session until Petrucci edged him out by half a tenth.

Although Ducati works rider Andrea Dovizioso then set a 1m39.800s and led into the final 10 minutes, Petrucci was able to improve again in the dying stages and topped the session with a 1m39.712s.

Dovizioso and Marquez were second and third, with Jack Miller taking fourth and then suffering a crash after the chequered flag fell.

Johann Zarco was the top Yamaha in fifth, as both factory riders are outside of the top 10 and will have to take part in Q1.

Maverick Vinales missed out on the top 10 by 0.061s in 11th with Rossi finishing two places further behind.

Marquez's Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa ended up sixth, followed by an impressive Pol Espargaro in seventh for KTM.

Alex Rins and Aleix Espargaro led Suzuki's and Aprilia's efforts in eighth and ninth respectively, with Ducati wildcard Michele Pirro holding on to 10th despite a late crash.

Rins fell at the end of the session, with Suzuki teammate Andrea Iannone and Aleix Espargaro also having incidents during the practice.

Iannone ended up only 15th, with the recovering Jorge Lorenzo taking just 17th, 1.3s off the pace.

Maverick Vinales fought through Q1 to take pole position at Valencia.

Marquez and Zarco both had spills in Q2. In fact Marquez did his best to drop his second bike straight after, somehow saving it, and seemed to give up at that point, dropping down from 3rd. Marquez will start in the middle of row 2 (5th) with Zarco further back
Rossi just could not get to grips in the dry and will start 16th.

Would love to see Rossi win this one when it restarts, having started in 16th. Still, he has already confirmed his 3rd position in the championship with Vinales crashing out.

Until today I had never seen someone spin a motorcycle. Iannone changed that.

Impressive performances up and down the field in the conditions.

Yeah, Rossi, or Rins would do it for me. Pol Espargaro starting 4th on his KTM too.

4th, after his crash? I hadn’t noticed that. I thought Pedrosa was 4th.
