They showed the events on Eurosport, basically one bike blew an oil line off and chucked oil everywhere right by Starkies Bridge, the cameraman followed him up the road to where he promptly crashed into the Coppice gravel, out of sight of the camera seven bikes crashed on the oil, he being one.

I live 12 miles from Donington.
It's so sad that so many motorcycle riders have been killed recently. Seems to be at least once a month that I come here and see the same thing

What really shocks me, is that all these fatal accidents happened on the short circuits. And the roads season has not started yet.
Goes to show that the element of danger is part of the thrill for both the riders and the spectators.
Still sad events.

Sad events, I did wonder why yesterday's schedule was cancelled. I've just read that another rider was seriously injured, here's hoping they make a full and speedy recovery. RIP Mick.

The clean up took too long and the sun started setting when they were finally ready. That's what I read earlier anywaykals wrote:Sad events, I did wonder why yesterday's schedule was cancelled. The oil was spread over a half mile distance, about 2 meters wide on the racing line, it was a mess.
The other guy has serious leg injuries.
I'm recording the races today, torn between bsb and btc and btc got thr nod, will watch them after nascar.

I almost forgot to spread the word on the 2nd BSB round at Brands Hatch Indy this weekend.
I`ve watched the supersport and superstock 1000 races yesterday and even if I`m not the biggest fan of the Indy circuit the racing was really good. Roll on 2:30pm CEST (central european summer time) for the coverage commencing on the eurosport onlineplayer

I completely missed the start of the BSB season. What happened to Shakey Byrne at Donington? I didn't see him on the results of either race.

Thanks Andy, that makes sense. I assume it is the same policy as in MotoGP whereby if a rider loses consciousness in a fall they are ruled out of further participation?Andy wrote:He had a shunt in warm up, was shortly unconscious and then declare unfit by the race dockals wrote:I completely missed the start of the BSB season. I think they judge on the severity of the head injury rather than declaring anyone knocked out unfit. Also unconsciouness is not always causef by a hit to the head. Unlucky fall over the bars, solar plexus takes a light beating and you black out shortly, too.kals wrote:Thanks Andy, that makes sense. In other news, I really enjoyed todays racing at Brands Hatch even though I was watching on the ipad while my bro and his gf were over for Easter lunch. Shakey was a bit unlucky in race two though but well done Luke Mossey.

At Donington Shakey failed the concussion test, it's the same one MotoGP use.
I was flicking through so didn't hear any updates, but has there been any on those Supersport guys that crashed at Clark Curve today?
