Great race, plenty of lead battles and it was not decided till the last turn and run to the flag.

Just watched the SuperSports 300 race which was fun..... 34 testosterone fuelled teenagers all elbows and shoulders out plus 5 abreast was quite eventful. :haha: Never seen (or heard of it ) before. Now just watched the 1000cc SuperStocks, which has just finished. Quite a programme they put together now with all the sub categories. .

Both WSBK races were pretty cool, 1st was better than the 2nd imo. Glad to see Davies walk away from his incident, watching his leg under the rear wheel going through the gravel I was expecting some injury but you could see him lift his foot before the bike reached the gravel.

Yeah that had me wincing as well.... I was quite surprised (and pleased) to see him dust himself off and walk away with his leathers looking unblemished and no signs of any injury. I didnt notice him lift his leg too much. (probably the wincing obscured my vision.)

Coming weekend the WSB heads to "the cathedral", the circuit van Drenthe in Assen for its round 4. The event runs from Friday to Sunday here.
Having seen three super exciting supersport races this season already, at least the supersport race should become a cracker here.

The SBK race was what I expected, but what unbelievable bad luck for Chaz Davies.

Yeah spoilt what was turning out to be a great battle for the lead, with one lap to go. :sorrow:

Two more victories for Johnny Rea in Assen, but an impressive action loaded attempt by Tom Sykes to clinch race 2. Just a few meters short of making it real. The final 'S', Geert Timmer Bocht, always delivers. Stefan Bradl had a sensational race 1, coming from 16th to finish 6th, only to mess up his start from third in race 2 on Sunday to finish 10th.

The Supersport race saw a runaway victory by Kenan Sufouglu. Behind Lucas Mahias very nearly gave away his 2nd place to Jules Cluzel thanks to pulling a wheelie right out of Geert Timmer Bocht, the final 'S' down towards finish line.

In a sensational Supersport 300 race, homeboy Scott Deroue took the laurels from Glenn van Straalen and Alfonso Coppola. Ihe remember Scott Deroue racing in the British Moto3 and battling away with one of the MacKenzie boys one or two years ago. I really hope this wasn't just a one off because he's shown real promise back then in the BSB's support paddock as well as yesterday, too.

The Superstock 1000 was marred by a mass collision, involving five riders, on the start lap in what almost looked like a carbon copy of Ian Hutchinson heavy accident at Silverstone in 2010. German Marvin Fritz, who came frome 9th position and was already up to 5th, was on the receiving end in this collision and stretchered off to the Groningen University hospital. Later news would escape, that he got through it completely unhurt, barring a few scathes. After a long delay the race resumed at 3:55pm local and saw Kenan Sofuoglos boy, Razgatlioglu, battling it out with Italian Michael Rinaldi before breaking away with 3 to go in the nine lap sprint to take the laurels.

Sadly I have to correct aboves post following WSBmedia having created a mess posting informations on the health status of the riders involved in the T17 incident during the opening lap of the STK 1000 race.

Here are now the correct updates taken from twitter: Following the link in Fritz's status update tweet this shows:
Fritz in stable condition
Sunday, 30 April 2017 18:14

Following an incident during today’s European Superstock 1000 Race at the TT Circuit Assen, Marvin Fritz (Bayer-Bikerbox Yamaichi) is in a stable condition at a local hospital in The Netherlands.

The session was red flagged on the opening lap after the German rider was involved in a crash with four riders at turn 16.

Two medical cars and then two ambulances were immediately on the scene to treat the 24 year-old, where every possible procedure was undergone in order to stabilize and assist Fritz by TT Assen Circuit. Due to the severity of his condition, the decision was taken to transfer Fritz by road to the nearby Hospital, Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen. After further examination, Fritz is now in a stable condition and has regained consciousness.

Dorna WSBK Organization and TT Circuit Assen wishes to pass on its best wishes and a fast recovery to the Fritz, his family, friends and team.
Doesn't sound positive really. Especially the bit 'regained consciousness" worries me because it means that he left the circuit unconscious and never regained consciousness till he was treated at Groningen University Hospital

Race 1 at Imola underway. Almost forgot about it in all the NW200 excitement. Looks like we'll be in for a non Kawa victory at the moment.

Yeah, lucky the start was delayed otherwise I would have missed that part anyway. (Good timing as it was still finished by F1 qualy thanks to a red flag stopping the race a few laps short.)

Good to see a Ducati win on home soil. (Chad managed to stay on board for the final lap.)
