That's a shame. When was the last year the TT wasn't run? I expect it was a long time ago (unless 2020 was cancelled too?)

I think last year was a no-no as well. Apart from the war years I believe there have been a few where the race was not held due to weather, but that has been a decision taken after the event started. (I think 2012 was one such year). Another was I believe when Foot and Mouth had a major outbreak and there were travel restrictions in place... that was in the early noughties.

@Andy is the word on the TT though, he would know chapter and verse.

2019
I've read an schedule announcement for 2022 only this morning, though.
29/5/2022-10/6/2022.

No word on this years Manx GP though. An announcement is due towards the end of this month but I'm not holding my breath because even if it can go ahead I've my doubts that many continental Europeans can afford the trip over, as it stands.

2019, sadly I may add.
My final time over so far, was TT 2019. The final was the 2019 Manx GP so far.
And yes, despite being still in contact with a lot of mates from the Isle and those who I've met over, it feels like ages. But that's not just me.

Thanks to a mate, I've been pointed to these two videos about Kenyian superbike racing.

First one looks like a good ole road race while the circuit in the second one looks interesting. Great for these two ladies to have been approved into the squad for racing in South Africa

Also do not forget The Spirit Of Motorsports TV with former road racer Barry Wood and Manx Radios voice of Ramsey Hairpin Roy Moore live from 1900 UTC tonight at

Snatched from facebook.
"Join Hailey Coxon alongside Manx legends Roy Moore and Barry Wood as the Mountain Memories boys are joined by 2 very special guests again this week - Martin Bullock and Carolynn Sells.
Martin has over 30 years experience in motor racing. When he retired in 2018, a large dent was left in the two-wheeled community.
Carolynn is the first and only woman to win a race on the Mountain Course.
This should be another cracker so come and get involved and #BePartofiTT"

That is all a bit sad... another bloody training exercise injury on a push bike.
All the best to Troy for a full and swift recovery. It sounds like he is not in any potential risk of paralysis or a complicated recovery, but I would imagine it will be moths until he is back on a race bike. He is not the spring chicken he was.

Manx Radio has launched a new player called Manx Radio Digital and for the next two weeks it will broadcast what could be called TT Special with plenty of race commentaries from previous TT races, typical TT week music, Roy Moore's and Barry Wood's mountain memories, and quite some different topics.

Right now, there's a program on marshalling with the IOMTTMA.
Coming up it is a look back on the 1972 to 1975 TT years :)

ROAD RACING IN ENGLAND IS BACK

Road Racing fans rejoice....Scarborough Gold Cup returns at Oliver's Mount after two-year absence

Image

Im sure @Andy will be happy at this news.

This September, England's only true road racing circuit will once more ring to the sound of motorcycle racing as the much-loved Gold Cup returns to Oliver's Mount Circuit.

Road racing will return to Oliver’s Mount this year after a new club stepped in to revive the Barry Sheene Classic and Gold Cup meetings.

Over the years the parkland circuit has played host to some of the greatest names in racing including Mike Hailwood, Geoff Duke, Giacomo Agostini, Chas Mortimer, Phil Read, Barry Sheene, Wil Hartog, Mick Grant, Carl Fogarty, David Jefferies, Ian Lougher and John McGuinness.

Scarborough's Olivers Mount is an overload for the senses; you can feel the speed watching riders hurtle up and down the tree-lined climbs a few metres away or watch the grass-skimming knee-down action on the top part of the circuit. Several of the quickest stars in road racing will be here for 3 days in September to entertain you with top class racing and spectacle.

STEVE HENSHAW GOLD CUP RACES - 16TH, 17TH AND 18TH September 2022

Oliver’s Mount Road Race circuit - Situated just five minutes from Scarborough’s town centre, the races have been likened to a ‘miniature TT by the seaside’. Edge-of-your seat racing, the closest action seen at any race venue, friendly organisers and a stunning setting are all key features of a race weekend at Oliver’s Mount.

The Gold Cup meeting will return to 'the mount' mid-September 2022 for 3-days of spectacular action from many of the World's top road racers. Expect to see riders of the calibre of Dean Harrison on his immaculately prepared DAO Racing bikes, other solo stars who will have hit the headlines at the TT and some of the Irish road races, with some really spectacular sidecar action in between.
