The F.C.C. TSR Honda France rider received treatment at the scene and was then transported by helicopter to a hospital in Yokkaiachi where he remains unconscious. These are the most recent informations from the team and Endurance World Championship (EWC).

There is no further official information on Rea. The Spanish newspaper Marca writes that the Briton is in ‘critical’ condition with injuries in the head, ribs and lungs – having undergone a surgery.

Thoughts and prayers for a full and speedy recovery. Hopefully better news coming. :fingers: :fingers:

As it's almost time to bugger off for another Isle of Man campaign, here's another of my pics 😉

Heading off to Hannover airport soon, for a dive into Heathrow and onwards to the lovely little rock in the Irish Sea from there. I'll be marshaling all days barring one, so there will be pics from Signpost only.

I was led to believe it is very rare to survive a diffuse axonal injury, with only 10% of those injured regaining consciousness.

Guerrero in 87, and Richard Hammond during Top Gear filming are the only people I've known to survive without obvious lasting effect, however Hammond has detailed the issues it's had with his personality and the rehab needed.

Wish Gino all the very best for a full recovery however lengthy the process is. :fingers: :fingers: :fingers:

For the record, Gino Rea has recovered well enough to ride a bike again. Has done a parade lap before the Le Mans 24 hrs race.
