Thats a bummer. Presumably Covid / travel restrictions in Finland must be like ours. I guess other countries not prepared to be flexible with quarantine regulations (for good reasons) such as Australia must be considered dubious now. I know we here have strengthened the stance of no visitors due to our lower than anticipated vaccine rollout, with less than 10% having had their first jab to date, and supply problems being the reason. Qantas have just delayed their resuming any International flights from October until end f December. (ie 2022,) at the earliest.

Especially looking at the weather forecast for Le Mans area which is showers all day all three days ...... but particularly wet on Saturday.
A French 1-2 in FP2 with Zarco heading Quartararo in what turned out to not be wet after this morning changing conditions.
As @Cheeveer predicted, many crashed or went off track.... Quartar, Bagnaia, Miller, Rins, Mir, Aleix Espargaro to name a few.

Should FP3 prove to be too wet on Saturday morning for any lap time improvements, with the forecast being for rain, the top 15 from FP2 will qualify for Q2. Rossi might make Q2 if that is the case!

Top 15 today in case it is wet tomorrow.
1 Johann Zarco Ducati 21 1'31.747
2 Fabio Quartararo Yamaha 16 1'31.842 0.095
3 Maverick Viñales Yamaha 22 1'32.136 0.389

With Germany still being on Englands amber list I simply couldn't afford to give up 10 of my 28 vacation days for quarantine purposes and thus I couldn't possibly make it to Scarborough for the Bob Smith Spring Cup. Tough luck but next time ;)

Moto GP is a bit lively.... dry start then a bit of rain and it was all change to wet bikes..... two Suzukis crashed out on the opening wet lap. Then Marquez was in the lead but crashed. Miller got a pit lane speeding double long lap penalty and is still in 2nd place. Quartararo leads.

And Marquez is going again but down in 17th. And now its stopped raining.

And now Quartararo has a long lap penalty.

Miller is not out of this by a long way.

Tremendous drive from Miller. The first rider to win despite serving two long-lap penalties. @Everso Biggyballies can probably mention the first one to do it with one. It was mentioned during the coverage but amid all the on-screen fracas, I wasn't really paying attention.

Miller wins from Zarco and Quartar, who now leads the championship. MM93 DNFd after a second crash.

I ordered takeaway which arrived mid race (an hour late!) so I also missed who was the first to win with an LLP. LLP's have not been in that long have they? Maybe a Marquez trick?

But as @Cheeveer predicted pre FP1 it was certainly a crash-fest.

Fun race! You could really tell that Marquez was testing the limits after his first fall. At the same time, you could really tell that all of Miller's efforts was about keeping it upright.

Also, Quart's penalty was utter bullshit.

I never really understood what he got it for, other than something to do with stopping in the wrong part of his pit 'box' which I have never heard of before. So I will go along with the bullshit call.

Maybe the officials think that he could run faster than a MotoGP bike?
