Couldn't find a better match, and I may of course be completely wrong, but most things fit, as far as I can see.

BTW, there's this old anecdote from the Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Someone from the World of Outlaws called the track proprietor once, and said: "We're all coming down to race at your place, and there ain't a goddamn thing you can do about it, old man!".

Proprietor said: "I don't think that's a good idea...".

WoO dude responded: "Well, whatcha gonna do about it? Who's gonna stop us?".

Proprietor replied: "Nobody, but why at IRP?".

WoO said: "Oh, shit, let's just forget about it...".

And then he hung up.

Here's a pic of Herk, taken by a photographer with balls of steel, leaving the track in this race, which means the other one is probably a qualy or practice accident. That would be interesting to know. Click to enlarge:
