Image

The late John Andretti's aftermath in turn 8, towards the end of the race at a street circuit, which rules out a few possibilities:

Can you tell me when/where this was, please?

I found the same image online at an image bank ... it does not give a venue but it refers to his crash coming out of T8..... so that would count out any oval.
John Andretti Jumps off the track after his car crashed into wall on turn 8 toward the end of the race.

Edit: Lol just noticed where I got that info is the same "Historic Images" outlet that appears as a watermark on the image. :suspicious:

Hehehe, well, If we by the T8-logic can eliminate Nazareth, 1991 Long Beach (infamous pit lane accident), and Pocono, then we are down to just Meadowlands and Cleveland. Of course, it could be one of those unlisted accidents, where the crash happened after the specified reason out. Seen it on all results sites, so far, albeit rarely. What red wine were you having, BTW? Aussie stuff?

Yes indeed Aussie. A Chris Hill Full Circle Reserve GSM to be exact. I bought a case at an auction for a lot less than it should have been. I bought it to use as Xmas presents last year, tried it, liked it and decided I wasnt giving Xmas presents.

From the McLaren Vale, too. :haha: I seem to see a pattern. Well, cheers, mud in your eye, and all that!

Giving presents, BTW, is immoral. If you give someone something they don't like, they'll disrespect you. If you give someone something they do like, they will grow to resent you for the effrontery of assuming they couldn't afford it, themselves. If you give them nothing, they will shower you with gifts. Now, here's the trick: the useless stuff they give you, you ask for a receipt, because you "already have the item", and then you cash the crap in, and get more McLaren Vale, or whatever rocks your boat. Believe me, I know. As an old blue-pilled tradcon gift-giver. :haha:

I can barely make out Pennzoil on the rear wing, so it was either 1991 or 1992, looked at results, only crashes on street/road courses were at Long Beach and Cleveland in 1991, and looking at the race tapes it appears to be at Cleveland in 1991.

1:30:43 is the first footage of the accident and picture would of been taken at about 1:31:12

Good work

It seems a dead ringer and thus solved to me.
