Motorsport Memorial updates
You guys seem to rely on MM a lot, so I'll post additions and corrections I find during research here, to keep you updated.
Recently, I found a lot of stuff regarding New Market Speedway in New Jersey, and with that two more fatalities and one different date. Missing from MM were Thompson or Thomas "Tommy" Reed, who died 1930 October 1 following a crash on Sunday, Sep 28, and Johnny Zielinski (sometimes spelled Zillinski) 1931 August 2. Wrong date for Albio Lattanzio, who died 1933 June 25, not 26. The papers said Lattanzio was the fourth fatality at the track, so this appears to be now the correct count (including Tommy Chapman, who died 1932 Feb 13, more than five months after his fiery accident).
Lattanzio was reportedly driving a racing car for the very first time, subbing for his older (and well known) brother, Amerino "Al" Lattanzio - some potential for confusion, here! Which brings up another dilemma, as Albio was actually fatality number 5, if testing accidents are to be included (and, since MM lists Carl Thul, who died testing on the track long after it had closed for racing, apparently they are). On July 15, 1932, a non-racing Friday, one Saturday F. Bisogno crashed "an auto racing car which he was trying out on the New Market Speedway", according to a local paper. Bisogno was, apparently, not (yet) a racing driver, and the track promoter was quick to point out that he "had no permission to use the track" - maybe he was just a local hot-rodder, who was going for some illegal thrills? At this point in time, it seems impossible to draw a line here. In any case, Bisogno succumbed to his injuries a week later.

James Francis Dobson, age 65, of 1423 West Waggoner Street in Decatur/IL, died June 4, 1961, 12:27 am in Saint Mary's Hospital in Deactur. He was the co-owner of Macon Speedway in Macon/IL, and was struck by a stock car driven by Bob Bennett of Decatur at about 9:35 pm the previous evening as he was crossing the infield from the grandstand on the west side of the track. The car was said to be making a "practice run", apparently not on the track. (Decatur Sunday Herald and Review, June 4, 1961, Section 2, page 1)

Jack Parry, 35-year-old driver from Alexandria/IN, died after crashing during hot laps at Fort Wayne Speedway, July 18, 1926.
EDIT Scratch that, Parry's listed as Jack Perry at MM.

Russell Pride, an amateur driver, was killed at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, aka Cumberland Park, on Sep 19, 1921. These were amateur races, probably modified stock cars, a few days before the professional IMCA Big car races at the Fair.

Well done! But it's Ted Eaton, not Baton.

Yes, and that is not my problem. If I'm to do anymore text revisions for these people, I demand reimbursement for lost time. They may be Baton, but I ain't Eaton.

And I see that, after more than a year, the search function problem still hasn't been solved.
