Bottom post of the previous page:

Still growing I see? You did a fantastic job with those mate.

I had a look through them. Rally fatalities = Collision with tree, collision with tree, collision with tree, collision with tree, collision with tree, spectator incident, collision with tree, spectator incident, spectator incident, collision with tree, collision with tree, collision with fence, collision with tree...

Thank you. It really took a long time to be done. But it's far frome complete, I fear.

That is exactly why I added the tag. It's scary, really scary. The only hope I have is that most of the deceased did not have to suffer.

I can't imagine they did suffer :( It's surprising how strong trees are - a 1,200kg rally car can hit one at 70mph and it won't even move.

Personally I think the most horrific crash of all is this one: http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/cpdb/cras ... itid1=1882

Accidents like these are a prime example of human failure in combination with bad, bad luck. I don't want to imagine the injuries the guard rail may cause.

Personally, I was really shocked by this one. Especially photo #9 is disgusting.

This project doesn't have an end. Another 10 entries added over the last two weeks. And they all require minutes and hours of research.

I find it very interesting, but if you feel it's time to move on, feel free.

I won't move on. But it's time for a break. Every new entry, if done correctly, needs about 30 minutes of research. Or more. Finding all available photographs. Finding them in the best qualitiy available, hopefully without a watermark. Putting them in a logical order (point of view/chronological). Foreign languages (For f***s sake, who the hell speaks Hungarian? Have you ever even tried to understand anything in Hungarian  ) etc.

tl; dr: I think I'm going to start another project soon. Not sure which one though.

The thing is, multiple people die in rally crashes every year, especially in obscure, unprofessional events in Eastern Europe. We can't hope to catch them all, nor is it, arguably, worth your time. That's not to undermine your work, because it has been exemplary.

But yes, please, feel free to move onto something else. There are lots of smaller projects which could be started, which focus just on what we have on the forum (and that is largely how I have been operating)

I've added Immigrati's entry.
EDIT: added also Guglielmini, since, strangely, he wasn't already there.

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for more information about the car accident in which Marguerite Anne Delorme died (1954, Rallye Paris-St. Raphael)
I was asked by a friend, who's in contact with some descendents of Marguerite, because they don't know where exactly the car accident took place: I've made a web research and I have found only the photo published in this forum, that I re-post here below
Thank you for any help you can give me

Maria

Welcome to the Forum Maria

Have you checked out the page at Motorsportmemorial.org about Delorme's fatal accident?
http://motorsportmemorial.org/focus.php?db=ct&n=7359

It tells you a location of the accident.
While travelling at the wheel of her car along the public road between the villages of Moncalieri and Carignano, province of Turin, Italy [...]
Today, this would be here:
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/10024+M ... 059457!3e0

Here's the link to one of the original newspaper articles in which the accident was reported: (Journal de Genève, March 8, 1954)

Since the last stage led the competitors from Sestriere to Monte Carlo, the competitors were traveling southward. Meaning that the house in the background of the photo was probably standing on the left side of the road. Or on the right side if you were travelling from South to North.
The road they might have used - at least from today's point of view - was either the SP20/SR20 or the SP393/(SP122)

Google street view has documented these roads:

https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9947196 ... 312!8i6656

Bear with me that I can not to the search myself right now. But maybe eventually you'll find a house with a lamp post/electricity pole in front of it, 5 windows (or 4 windows and a door + a balcony) and a peaked roof that looks like the one in the photo.

Something like the one on the right side here:

I can tell you that the photo comes from "La Stampa".

Dear people
You really made the day of Delorme grandchild : here’s what she has written

Incroyable
Ils décrivent l'accident avec tellement de détails
Et le lieu : entre Moncalieri and Carignano, province of Turin
Je vais pouvoir y aller
C'est une grande émotion pour moi
Merci Mille Mercis

Many many thanks again!
