AVUS project.

It says 213 results found, but 84 of those are just in the one thread where we were ID'ing a crash. There are not that many to add, but they need arching:

Here's a painting of Arthur Rosenhammer's (EMW) accident during the 1954 AVUS-Rennen. His car started to burn and he jumped out. His car was damaged and Rosenhammer just had a hole in his overall.

The Grand Prix of Berlin 1959 at AVUS (SportsCars - 1500ccm - 25laps - 207km - WET) of Carel (Pieter Anthonie Hubertus) Godin de Beaufort.

Count de Beaufort rejoins the sports-car race with his Porsche, after diving over the top of the North Curve, and landing in the paddock area some 30 feet below! He was quite unhurt, but rtired a few laps later.

Just one lap after that incident Jean Behra flew over the slippery North Curve and was killed by hitting a flag-pole.

Thank you so much sebbbl! We couldn't do this database without guys like you!

Aside from the Otto Merz, I could not find any of your photos above on Google. If you don't mind, I will find your original posts and edit your photos into them.

The Ernst Henne crash. Is that one and the same crash? Still not entirely convinced about the location AVUS.
Just look at that slope/embankmant in the background has that car crashed down and came to rest on that plain?... looks very much like Nürburgring to me.

Have a look at the second Henne photo:

He crashed through a big chain-link fence into a field. The damage is the same.
