Bottom post of the previous page:

Ticktum is a dick. Piastri out of the race . Bit of a 50/50 maybe but bottom line is Piastri is out.

The clash is under investigation. Looks like the race will run out of time and be a one lap sprint to the finish.

Was looking forward to some F2 or F3 this weekend... but nothing! Such short seasons for both of them this year.

@MonteCristo (plus anyone else interested)

Just a heads up that we have F3 on the Spanish GP support card this weekend.....

No F2 though. :sorrow:

Anyway we will get F3 qualy today, a short while after the F1 guys have done P1.
Two races tomorrow and a third race on Sunday. (All 22 laps / 40 minutes)
Also on the card are Formula Alpine, which I guess is what used to be known as Formula Renault. Anyway, they have three races over the weekend as well. (30 minutes each plus 1 lap)

Schumacher had passed Fittipaldi for the race lead and then Fittipaldi punts Schumacher off the track into the wall in the first corner complex, but Nanini benefits and takes the lead. Not sure if Fittipaldi got damage but he might be up for a penalty anyway.

SC was deployed and whilst that was leading the field Fittipaldi has stopped on track with what seems like a mechanical issue, maybe related to the brush with Schumacher. It doesnt look like a suspension failure more like the car just stopped running.

Nanini did well to hold off Hauger at the restart. 5 laps to go.

Now Nanini and Hauger clash over the lead again going into T1. Both suffer damage and neither are looking at winning ,
We almost had another next lap but it looks like Caldwell will hold the position and likely takee the win if he can hold on until the lap end.

Olli Caldwell wins from Victor Martins and Frederik Vesti. He started P7 and ended up P1 thanks to other lead battle clashes. A fun race I have to say.
Jack Doohan 8th.

The *legit* four wide run into turn 1 in F3 race 3 was nice. Don't see that often.

Pourchaire takes F2 Pole to becaome youngest ever F2 polesetter.

As is standard for Monte Carlo, qualifying was split into two groups of 16 minutes each, with Group A made up of even-numbered cars....

Oscar Piastri has qualified third for this weekend’s second round of the Formula 2 Championship in Monaco.

Piastri will line up behind pole-sitter Theo Pourchaire and team-mate Robert Shwartzman on the grid for Sunday’s Feature Race. Théo Pourchaire earned the title of becoming Formula 2's youngest ever polesitter in the process. (He is just 17) His first appearance at Monaco as well so not too shabby..

At the other end of the scale Alessio Deledda has been given permission by the stewards to start Sprint Race 1 and the Feature Race from the back of the grid in Monte Carlo. He failed to get within 107% of pole. The F2 rookie’s time was 6.341s adrift of the 1m21.403s posted by Shwartzman in the same (Group B) session. Nearly 7 seconds off of Pourchaire's pole time.

Just what you need at Monaco..... a mobile chicane circulating. :whistling:

Guanyu Zhou will start Friday’s sprint race from pole position following the reversal of the top 10 in qualifying as per F2’s new-for-2021 three race weekend format.
