Bottom post of the previous page:

Mazepin passes him again despite a dodgy bit of defending from Schu.

Shame for Scwartzman about the SC as he had opened up a good gap at the front.

Daruvala has spun in front of Illott who has damage. Actually I think Schu had a lock up up and Illott had to take avoiding action and caught Daruvala spinning him.
Illott pits and rejoins ahead of only Tsunoda.. Championship changing moment. Advantage schu.

As they stand Tsunoda has dropped to 5th in the championship which wont get him a Superlicence. He needs to have two great races next weekend, and hope Mazepin and Schwartzman have a bad weekend.

So now Tsunoda's main opposition in the championship places are running 1&2 with Tsunoda out of the points.

Gets worse for Illott who has been given a drive through penalty for contact with Daruvala.

seems like Schumacher will clinch the title by not going off the road and keeping out of trouble.

the end result is what counts I guess.

Well he took too much from his tyres and dropped down to 7th by the end the second race and so still has a chance of not winning the title.. 7th only carries two points so not too damaging to Illott... it could have been worse, and Illott still ends the weekend closer than he started.

Two races left at next weeks Bahrain outer circuit, Schu holds a 14 point lead. MSJnr does not seem to qualify fastest, that part of the weekend carrying 4 points for pole of the feature race. Also 2 points each race for fastest lap. Plus the finish points down to 8th.

A shame for Illott who suffered damage and a penalty when he hit Daruvala whilst avoiding a locked up Schumacher. Im not convinced of Schumacher....I thought a few of his moves bordered on suspect, and he thinks nothing of throwing in an earlier than needed application of brakes which twice in the second race had others taking avoiding action as a result, and some of his defensive drivers reminded me of his father... pushing drivers to the pit wall.
When I say he reminds me of his father is not meant as a compliment. Having said that, it is F2 and it is a breeding ground for desperate moves.

3rd 4th and 5th are very close in the championship, and Tsunoda dropped from 3rd to 5th whilst his main competition reaped rewards by finishing 1-2. I think he needs to finish 3rd in the championship to qualify for the Superlicence he needs to get promoted to Alpha Tauri in F1.

Current Championship standings.

POS DRIVER POINTS
1 Mick Schumacher 205
2 Callum Ilott 191
3 Nikita Mazepin 162
4 Robert Shwartzman 159
5 Yuki Tsunoda 157

Someone in motor racing with a big wallet? How unusual. Always been the same, even back in the gentleman driver days.

I think top 4. It was top 3 but I think an FP1 which gives something towards S/L points allows him to finish top 4. He is pencilled in for FP1 in Abu Dhabi ... also the post season test will give him another addition.

He was running 3rd prior to last weekend but not having the best weekend when his main opponents (Mazepin and Shwartzman) finished 1&2 dropped him down to 5th albeit they are all close.

I posted this earlier in the week which shows the current standings and points

So what is the superlicence status of Fittipaldi? Instant qualification due to Indy experience?

Not sure.

But he hasn't got that much Indycar experience. He broke his leg sports car racing (at Spa?) and wrote off half the season.
