Post your favourite examples of nonsensical lyrics

This is a thread for all those lyrics that don’t really make sense (or are just plain wrong), but that somehow the artist gets away with. Not poor lyrics, not deliberately silly lyrics, just those that make you go “Eh? WTF you on about?”

There’s hundreds of them out there, so here’s a few good examples:-

“Now that the living outnumber the dead” – Speak My Language (Laurie Anderson)

So more people are alive today than have ever died? Bollocks. I demand a recount.

“I got hit by a bow and arrow” – Real Real Gone (Van Morrison)

Being hit by an arrow, I can understand. Bloody painful too I imagine. But to be hit by the bow as well is just plain unlucky.

“Gunpowder, gelatine, dynamite” – Killer Queen (Queen)

If gelatine is an explosive, I think we should be told. Especially as you can buy it in Tesco.

“It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife, and isn't it ironic” – Ironic (Alanis Morrissette)

NO! It isn’t. On any level whatsoever. If you want an example of irony, Miss Morrissette, it’s the fact that the only person ever to write a song about irony is also the only person in the whole world who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word. Now that’s ironic.

Water babies singing in a lily-pool delight, blue powder monkeys praying in the dead of night - March Of The Black Queen (Queen)

What the hell are blue powder monkeys and are the really religious?

Every Frank Zappa song that has lyrics.

but I think Excentrifugal Forz taks the cake.

The clouds are really cheap
The way i seen 'em through the forts
Of which there is a half-a-dozen
On the face of my resorts
You wouldn't think i'd have too many
Since i never cared for sports
But i'm never really lonely
In my excentrifugul forz

There's always corla plankun
Kim and me can play the blues
And then i'll watch him buff that
Tiny ruby that he use
He'll straighten up his turban
And inject a little ooze
Along a one-celled hammond organism
Underneath my shoes

And then i'll call pup tentacle
I'll ask him how's his chin
I'll find out how the future is
Because that's where he's been
His little feet got long and flexible
And suckers fell right in
The time he crossed the line
From later on, the way back when

I think I read somewhere what blue powder monkeys are, but I cannot for the life of me remember the answer! Some of Freddie's early lyrics were a bit "out there" at times.

Many great musicians used drugs, ok?

But they were not always the excuse - sometimes it was just outright pretentiousness!

Aerosmith's weirdest lyrics (and song), Steven Tyler was in such a state he doesn't remember anything anymore, nor what it is all about...
At first we three thought
'Twas the biblical cord of life
Then noticing 'twas connected to his head

How strange, not to believed
I reached out to feel, and the pony's eyes opened
The cord got hard, the head looked around
And you know who pushed and gushed
The waters of life
First two hooved feet, then the shine of his fur

But at first to my eyes only
Feather - feathers - wings
The butterflies flew up in such colors
Exploding all around us

The rest I did not see - till there he stood - All eyes in wonder

Who me - Who you

That's from the album Rock in a hard place. It's called 'prelude to Joadie'. It goes along with weird instrumentals....

Here you can listen to the first 30 seconds: http://www.imeem.com/szakal/music/ZgzFo ... to_joanie/

It is really is totally not Aerosmith, really weird

Randy Scouse Git by the Monkees is a song that is full of nonesense, Micky Dolenz doesn't even know how he got the lyrics.
