I think it's good we don't agree on definitions and like the same stuff. Else we'd still be listening to this:

If you think it's Rock then by God it's Rock.
Personally I was never a Rush fan but to each his own.

Not at all. I know many Rush fans.
Mostly there just haven't been many three member bands that I cared for.
Blue Cheer etc. They all had good songs, but overall .......

Ah, may as well have the coda, while the game's good, and all.

That was the epitaph of pomp rock. Guess they never figured out the rules... Story ended with the death of Freddie Mercury. Haven't seen anything on a grander scale, ever since.

Repost (old), still relevant. The Doors either ripped off this, or it was ripped off of them. Either way, this is better. In fact, it's a masterpiece.

"Mr. Conductor, where are we heading?!".

Let me guess: up a certain fecal watery fissure, without a particular item of forwardly propelling movement.

Pop-art alumni, compared. Impressionism vs realism. Cale wins. Always wondered how they could abide each other for so long. They are as different in terms of soul and spirit as can possibly be imagined, yet both rate among the greats. Different POV is all there is to it. The true soloist is a dinosaur breed, nowadays. Musicians in our age may be superior in technical ability, but they don't compose on the same artistic level. Possibly because they aren't really trying.

Totally agree. John Cale (OBE) was and still is a true legend. The problem nowadays is they aint got no guts.

They were brought up believing that they didn't really need any. Piss into a cup and there's your art. Smear your face with excrement, and there is your vehicle of expression. Grow a trendy marxist beard, castrate and censor yourself, bow down and worship your masters, the feminist and the state. Shout Hitler if anyone dares criticize. 25 years of undiluted shit carpet bombardment by Western culture, directed against itself. Feudalism and war is better than this absolute spiritual vacuum.

"Sadness kills the Superman; even fathers cry.".

But of course, that is not the end. Nor is it the beginning. But perhaps it's the beginning of the end.

"All the children are insane.".

The retarded hippies back then thought that Jim was symbolically addressing society... They still do it, look at punk and grunge rock. And even post-Metal, britrock and emo... The left just cannot wait to claim cultural output as part of some imaginary ideological struggle. Rock musicians are the most narcissistic and anti-collectivist human beings imaginable. Who can fucking blame the bastards. Music of any significance or quality is the great escape, and not the great motherfucking get-together.

"Sweet child in time, you'll see the line."

Hahahahaha...! Stupid child of our time, you can't see fucking shit...

Let's face it, great rock music, epic or otherwise, just really isn't for the masses. The only thing that is for the masses is poo. To wallow and revel in, like the humanoid pigs that they are. Birds figured that out a long time ago, grew wings, and took off. The best thing been done, I find, in retrospect, is they now charge you an arm and a leg for concert tickets. Keep these people away. Fair the fuck enough. Motörhead + Saxon: sixty quid. Great. Just fab. Means I don't have to be in the same room as some scruffy, crusty piece of shit, when I'm listening to some good live stuff.

Nah, the love is sleeping and the floor needs sweeping. I don't know why nobody told you. But it's sort of understood, innit. Comes with having this strange thing called a soul.

So, there we are, then.

Well, it's all in there, innit. Precisely the point. Diogenes was an elitist, too. Depending on how you interpret that concept.
He became notorious for his philosophical stunts such as carrying a lamp in the daytime, claiming to be looking for an honest man. He criticized and embarrassed Plato, disputed his interpretation of Socrates and sabotaged his lectures, sometimes distracting attendees by bringing food and eating during the discussions. Diogenes was also noted for having publicly mocked Alexander the Great.
That's a geezer, if ever there was one.
