A little catalogue of the '80s in music. Movie was awful. Ozzy's commercial stormtroopers blocked his track. Best track was easily this:

River's Edge. Smartish enough '80s b-movie, as I recall it.

Never mind. It's all over, anyway, at this point.

Phenomena (failed Dario Argento splatter movie): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenomena_(film) .

Noted for I'd say 5 things:

Donald Pleasence.

Jennifer Connelly.

The maggot-infested decomposing skull in the terrarium.

The Motörhead song used in the soundtrack: <---: fave part, 0:27. :haha:

The Iron Maiden song used in the soundtrack.
Don got stabbed, not ejected, like in Gremlins.

I have to say mine is Top Gun, that is one soundtrack I've played a lot over the years and I never tire of it.

That truly was a great soundtrack and was part of the reason the movie was so big. I would also add to that list: Wizard of Oz - 1939, Lawrence of Arabia - 1962, A Hard Day's Night - 1964, Dr. Zhivago - 1965, Sound of Music - 1965, Help -1965, The Singing Nun - 1966, The Graduate - 1967. The Harder They Come - 1972, Super Fly -1972 to name a few others.

I will point out, several of those were made before I was born :whistling:

There actually wasn't a whole lot of obvious and rememberable choices after 1972. I mean, I couldn't bring myself to list Titanic or Saturday Night Fever. The Wizard of Oz was before I was born.

I own just 3 movie soundtrack albums Top Gun as previously stated, Grease and Dirty Dancing. All have been played a lot over the years.

Yea, I am not so sure in the long term how Grease and Dirty Dancing are going to hold up. Big at the time doesn't always mean big decades later. I mean, certainly Wizard of Oz, Lawrence of Arabia, and Sound of Music have stood the test of time.

Quoted for fact. I think that movie was made by the music.... it set the varying moods through different scenes perfectly, and yes it made the movie.
