The brutality of the cars that ran the Safari Rally. Not like the Dakar cars that was built bespoke for the African terrain, but "modified" WRC cars. This Porsche especially:

For me the iconic Safari Special was the Toyota Celica ST185... It does have the Castrol livery underneath all that mud

Um, really? I thought it was a disgrace for Rydell that he was seen in one of those. At least he won a couple of races in it!

I also liked that Toledo, although the paint scheme was always a bit of a mess... I also liked that generation Seat Leon, but not so much the next one that made it to WTCC.

I always had a love of the original BMW M1 'Procars', from 1979/80. Especially the BASF liveried car.

I thought I had posted this beauty before. The ex Keke Rosberg Budweiser backed Lola Spyder Chev. Can Am car of the late seventies (1979). Beautiful car and it sounds pretty good too. Photos taken at the Australian GP Historic Sports Car Support Race Paddock last year.

It is very, very ugly IMO. Compared to the S40 and Ferrari 550's and Aston Martin's he was used to drive.
