September 8th 1963.....

Jim Clark won his first World title. :flag: :twothumbs: :flag:

If anyone wishes to add to this or expand on JC's achievments, be my guest. I would but dont have the time right now but felt this would be a good time to start this thread. This goes for any other date from any year as it comes up

11th September 1977.... Niki Lauda won the second of his WDC's with Ferrari at Monza and promptly stuck it up Ferrari by announcing he was off to Brabham for the next year

12th September 1916 Tony Bettenhausen was born

12th September 1943 Bjorn Waaldegard the rally champion was born.

12th September 1976 Niki Lauda made the most remarkable sporting return in motor racing history when, just six weeks after his terrible accident at the Nurburgring (1st August) he lined up at Monza in a third Ferrari to defend his WDC lead, sporting a specially made crash helmet to accomodate his extensive bandages, qualified 5th, and came home in a truly amazing 4th place despite having no eyelids, and being in considerable pain. On removing his helmet his bandages were covered in blood as some of his wounds had opened.

Ferrari had to run three cars because Enzo had assumed Niki would never drive again, and had replaced him with Reutemann

12th September 1994....Team Lotus went into receivership.
