Of course he was unhappy, he had every right to be. Before the team order he was ahead of Kubica on merit. On merit is not how Kubica won that race.
I see you forget how the refuelling era works? Kubica found enough speed to win by 16 secs. despite more pitstops than Heidfeld. With this logic, I guess Schumacher winning with 4 pitstops in France 2004 was like the most unmerited victory in F1 ever?
That’s not what happened though. My logic is sound. Kubica may have pulled those seconds, but he wouldn’t have done so had BMW not asked Heidfeld to step aside first.
Nick, Robert is faster than you. Do you understand my message?

Nico Hülkenberg stomped him in his first year, scoring 51 over Gutierrez' 6 points. Sutil and Gutierrez both failed to score points any in 2014 In his 3rd year, 2016, he failed to secure himself a top 10 result while his teammate Romain Grosjean got 29 points and finished 13th in the championship. Even though the latter did not participate in two races (Singapore, Brazil)

I don't follow F1 regularly. So I can't really evaluate his performance in the races. But the statistics speak a clear language.

Gutierrez had a promising junior career but for some reason didn't gel with F1.

If we're going to talk about unfulfilled talents then certainly Nico Hülkenberg deserves to be mentioned. As for wasted talents, Jules Bianchi.

yes for Hulkenberg. But his silly mistake last Sunday didn't do him good - there was his opportunity to shine, and he wasted it.

Jules Bianchi (sadly) doesn't count, as his career was cut short after the fatal accident (see post 1).
(but obviously yes, he did have talent)

- Kamui Kobayashi

Probably put himself in the picture due to 2 great Toyota drives. But can't say I was overly impressed by the rest of his F1 career.

Great Sportscar driver though. Not yet snagged a WEC title, but has been second twice and 3 Le Mans 24hr 2nd places to his credit.

I actually dare mention Alonso here. Obviously he is an F1 champ, but he made his own life difficult with stupid political games which backfired.

All true but @Antonov's point is true. Due to Alonso's behaviour he limited his own success in F1

Death is a factor though, so I disagree with that being disqualifying for this thread.

Alonso could have done all of that plus another three world championships.

:agreepost:

I’m sure Alonso would have happily traded more championship success in F1 over those fake Le Mans and WEC wins.

Maybe yes, maybe not.
And that fake this, fake that... There are so many fake WDC's...

And btw: fake Le Mans? There are 2 other drivers... Same with IMSA's Daytona 24h.
