Bottom post of the previous page:

Robert "Doorknobs" Doornbos

Im sure @Antonov will be interested in this little tale!

Having come from a very wealthy family, he bought his way into various categories until his family lost their fortune and he progressed with a sponsor who funded his exploits in the US post F1..... said sponsor and he had a falling out and the sponsor claimed the sponsorship money ($12million)was a loan rather than sponsorship. The courts agreed and ordered Doornbos to repay the money.....

So Robert has continued the family's entrepreneurial spirit and set up a business called Kiiroo, which specialises in the aptly-named “teledildonics” which allows couples to interact sexually when on different sides of the world:rofl:

Full Robert and Doornbos family story here: https://www.joeblogsf1.com/joesaward/id/00376

Basically he is flogging sex toys online I think it fair to say..... :suspicious:

will discuss with my girlfriend when seeing her next week

we both agree that the bad evolution around the continent might prevent us from seeing each other for a long time again.

Not that simple I'm afraid. It's not exactly the ideal time to move in, especially because she'd have to leave papa behind in Moscow.
+ she has a good job there (sort of like a civil servant) and I'd hate it for her to give that up in exchange for an uncertain future (my field of work has been hit extremely hard - no guarantees).

Let's just say that, compared to spring and summer, we are fortunate to be able to see each other again - albeit via a 'corridor' Turkey.

Well, if it's like that you can move east just as well, can't you? You've got nothing to lose here, so pack up your things, putin an appearance over there!

Sounds like interesting story, and the book might be worth a read. Life in the IMSA days I guess. Life sentence for pot though, thats a bit steep. At least he got released though, and good to see he is making another (legal) career out of da weed.

Finnish rallycross driver and five-time European champion Matti Alamäki currently owns a company, which manufactures, leases, and sells sim racing equipment: X-R'cer.

He also runs a driver academy, which uses sim racing to help with careers of young crosskart (and karting) drivers, and has been heavily involved in the career of Sami-Matti Trogen, 2019 iRacing World Rallycross Champion and current Walkenhorst Motorsport driver in the NLS/former VLN series.

I've got the honour of knowing Matti on a personal level due to my involvement in sim racing, and he's still an interesting character to this day. Has done a lot for it, too - including working in the commentary booth alongside me in some of the national series. Completely ageless as well, in fact he (and couple of other "old farts") still race from time to time, albeit virtually!

Matti Alamäki! Name from the past... must be getting on, is he?

Well, I checked with Mr Google and he is only 65! Go figure, he must've started early.

There was a time rally cross was being broadcasted on a very regular base. Alamäki and Schanke are names i still can remember. Many old Group B cars.
