I'm going with that one track in Japan. You know... the correct one... where they raced... with those kind of cars in the picture...

Looks very much like it. That was my initial thought. The Autocar signage says it UK. And it is not the old Brands tunnel.

In fact I just looked at a photo from more recent Goodwood times....

I think it actually is the Brands Hatch tunnel. At least the photos (above and below) were posted in a Brands Hatch related group.

Either way, let's call this one solved :-)

@hollie3sa Well my first thought was Brands but I discounted it because of the crowds and decided Goodwood..... the tunnel at Brands goes under the track at the top of Paddock Bend and looks like there are people on the side of the track above the tunnel so I discounted it from a 'health and safety' pov.... but given the pic looks early sixties I guess H&S was unheard of then. One thing I do remember about the tunnel at Brands is that when you went through from the paddock area towards the track as soon as you come out of the tunnel the road went fairly sharply to the right. But as the tunnel was used to leave the paddock and rejoin it could indicate if the car pictured was returning to the paddock rather than heading to the trackthen the crowd would not be right by the track. If that makes sense. The Dummy assembly grid would be on the left of this pic below, with the paddock area straight on.

THis picture below does look very much like Brands in the background.

Edit: Just found a video of the entrance to Brands and driving through the tunnel. The tunnel bit is from c 2:30 on the video. Having seen that I would say Brands. You can see the curve to the right I remembered on leaving the tunnel towards the track.
