Yes, pretty sure that's Imatra - one of the less dangerous parts of the track (thin street light poles lining, instead of thick trees).

Okay, I recognized two helmets (Baldé #17 and Ekerold #31), so I couldn't resist and looked it up: it's August 1 in 1976, the opening 350cc race (probably bad colour reproduction, because those plates sure don't look blue to me!). That makes #12 Charlie Williams (retired/engine), and the yellowish/brown/golden bike just behind Ekerold should be Patrick Fernandez (#27, 10th), #23 is Gianfranco Bonera, I think (accident), #15 Karl Auer (14th), #29 Marcel Ankoné (13th), #10 I think is Alex George (broken exhaust) and behind that could be #7 Gérard Choukroun (6th); Ekerold finished 7th and Baldé 11th. The leaders (Walter Villa, who won, Dieter Braun 2nd, Tom Herron 3rd, Giacomo Agostini ignition, Victor Palomo 8th and Alan North retired) are already through on what appears to be the second lap.

Hehehehe @PTRACER mentioned the track it is a couple of weeks ago elsewhere in the forum and I looked it up online as I wanted to learn more. That photo was in the article I read, so I wont spoil the 'fun' so to speak.

I have to admit, I don't remember at all and had to look up the picture on the internet to find the answer!

Hmmmm, the first circuit that came to my mind was Fuji, although the field would've lined up to race the track backwards and I don't know if that ever happened.

Fuji is a good explanation, as indeed it was at first a counter-clockwise track, until 1968 I think. Didn't bother to take a guess since I know bugger all about touring cars, and wouldn't even have known where to start looking.

Seeing this comment made earlier, my mind jumped to Japan immediatly for obvious reasons. But I just can't place it. It was mentioned in a post to do with an early arcade game posted in the youtube thread. In fact PT mentioned it correcting someone else who had mentioned it.
