Great pics.... to me the early to mid seventies was just the best times for Touring cars, be it BTCC other Domestic series through the World to ETCC, and then Group 2 plus the more outrageous Sports Sedans / Thundersaloons and their international equivalents. Maybe im biased because that is the era that got me hooked on Motor Racing (and gave me a temporary living).

STP seemed to be a regular part of many liveries even if not the full red livery. Even in car accessory shops it was always on display. It was a must have product.

Im not or have ever been a big fan of NASCAR but the STP Petty liveries are one car I do remember.

Didnt Mario win Indy in an STP backed car?

STP had their influence and stickers even downunder..... the Roadways car still runs today in our Heritage Touring Cars. (Genuine period cars as opposed to recreations)

My knowledge of ATCC liveries is limited but I always liked the Nine Network Camaro of the early 1980s. This is Kevin Bartlett at Bathurst 1981.

I reckon one of the best categories for liveries was the old M1 Procar series.

Had some absolute gems,

Always liked the BASF one in particular.

Jagermeister was another....

I also liked the Black BMW Motorsport livery on the Hans Stuck Batmobile.

I have to say the JPS Lotus. Not just because it was Mansell's, De Angelis' and Senna's. I love gold on black.

Never did anything for me. I thought it was awful. The whole look capped off with those dreadful grooved tyres

I *didn't mind* it, but it was always going to be jarring to go from the iconic Marlboro colours.

Far from a classic, but I've seen a lot worse.

Case in point the 1998 and 1999 Williams.

The 1997 Mclaren was the best of the West liveries.

Not exactly a favourite but it is a classic livery.
