Too erratic & crash prone, obviously. Even when he got a chance with 2004-05 Williams I still remember him for crashing out Montoya at Spa more than anything else. There was a reason Williams picked uninspiring but reliable Nick Heidfeld over him in first place
Pizzonia is one of the very few F1 drivers in 21st century who has over 50% retirement rate which is really hard to achieve in the modern reliability era.

He was just the first driver I could think of. Williams also wanted to test Anthony Davidson for a 2005 race seat, his being a BAR/Honda protege actually did his career more harm than good, looking back.Vassago wrote: ↑1 year agoToo erratic & crash prone, obviously. Bruno Junqueira would be an interesting choice and he was in the Williams seat shootout before Button was picked over him. He was fast but erratic with Ganassi in IndyCar but the CART/IRL merger really shut down his career which should have been more longer than it ultimately was. And if he followed Ganassi to IRL to begin with, that would have been a better career choice even if that's merely a hindsight opinion. Tomas Scheckter as Dixon's teammate doesn't look any less hilarious almost 20 years after it happened given how Scheckter was kicked out of Jaguar, managed to wreck previous boss Eddie Cheever and still ended up with Ganassi but that was his last strike after all

I agree there but I would have thought Bruno Junqueira's Indy 500 crash in 2005 would have been what set in motion the process of his career shutting down.Vassago wrote: ↑1 year ago Bruno Junqueira would be an interesting choice and he was in the Williams seat shootout before Button was picked over him. A solid driver in his class, but Bourdais solidly put him in his place as teammates. And seeing as Seabass did little in F1, I don't see our real estate agent as a wasted/lost F1 talent.Vassago wrote: ↑1 year ago Bruno Junqueira would be an interesting choice and he was in the Williams seat shootout before Button was picked over him. Bjorn Wirdheim though unintentionally surrendering the win in the Monaco F3000 race just before the finish line in 2003 wouldn't have helped.

What I meant was he would've been champion had he not left Red Bull after 2018.erwin greven wrote: ↑1 year agoWhen. In what year?DaleJuniorFan wrote: ↑1 year ago Daniel Ricciardo

Would have?? What about the Max factor? Once Max had settled and got few races under his belt he pretty much had Danny covered I would have thought. Plus the fact development of the car was very much Max influenced.DaleJuniorFan wrote: ↑1 year agoWhat I meant was he would've been champion had he not left Red Bull after 2018.erwin greven wrote: ↑1 year agoWhen. Let's just say Daniel Ricciardo is an unfulfilled talent. At least I think he is.
