Bottom post of the previous page:

what kind of laptop would be good enough to pay rFactor (1) (and possibly 2) on full settings?
oh, and FSX Steam Edition on high settings.

looking for a working laptop, but with the possibility to play that at least.

Can anyone recommend a free software for mounting cue/bin files? The Windows image viewer only works for ISOs and every free alternative I've tried have thrown up virus positives at https://www.virustotal.com

Thanks, I downloaded it but this one also threw up a virus warning upon scanning at VirusTotal.com. Any idea if this is a false positive?

I use for track building (rFactor) a program 3dSimEd. My Antivir virusscan immediately is going nuts because of two files which are definitely not virusses at all.
Can 7-Zip open ISO files?

Windows' in-built tool can open ISO files but it's the cue/bin file format it can't recognise.

What device are you using to play it? It'll play just fine on your PC.

DVD players tend to only work with one region (except those cheap ass players which plays everything you throw at it). I'd imagine consoles act the same.

@Alonsomania - according to MKV Maker it is

"BD-ROM MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ160 1.00"

this is the kind of error I am confronted with
fout 'Scsi fout - ILLEGAL REQUEST:MEDIA REGION CODE IS MISMATCHED TO LOGICAL UNIT REGION' opgetreden tijdens lezen 'BD-ROM MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ160 1.00' bij offset '2048'
Openen van disc mislukt
VLC recognises a video file (its play duration), but will not play the actual footage.

Then it's not a DVD but a Blu-Ray which has quite more advanced copyright protection so I assume it works a bit more complicated.

I've never really bothered with Blu-Rays so no idea how to 'crack' the region protection. Seems like Handbrake may be able to do this: https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-make-Blu ... egion-free

It is a DVD.

probably 'BD-ROM' because it is also possible to play Blu-Ray.

Ah. Is it an external drive or not? Did you attempt to use another program to copy the DVD? Eg DVD Decrypter (freeware) is able to circumvent copy protection/region issues and rip the DVD to your hard drive.

Alternatively, try this: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5607
