Assetto Corsa Competitizione is fantastic. Incredibly immersive offline racing. Hadn't touched my steering wheel in 3 months, but the itch came back again this weekend. Even the small things, like chosing the right set of tyres, is in the game. In race 2 at Brands I accidentally used the same tyres as I had used in the first stint of race 1, and so was 2-3 seconds off the pace before I blew the right front.

a substantial downside though is that the game is so heavy, the tracks can't take as many cars as they did in real life. Only 29 at Monza for example, when the real races had 50+ grids.

Do the cars have that really heavy feeling like the Gran Turismo series? Those cars feel like you're driving without power steering.

To put it this way: the driving experience is very dynamic! No, it's not like you're driving without power steering, but you can feel the downforce, you can feel whether the tyres are in good shape (in regards of tyre pressure, heat and wear), you notice very well whether the track is green, rubbered down, greasy or damp, and of course there's big difference in character between a Jaguar and a Porsche.

All in all, it's a very rewarding driving experience. I did a 2 hour race at Monza the other day, and it just flew by. The AI can be a bit dumb at times, but nothing worse than any other game.

I'll look for a demo on PS4 store. Hopefully I'll be able to check it out.

Anyone who plays GTL knows how deadly these are. This is the closest I'm willing to get.

Finished 3rd in the season opener at Phoenix after leading more than half the race. Due to reliability concerns I didn't want to turn up the turbo boost near the end, that's why I lost out, those around ran full boost, so I won't make that mistake again. Here on the cool-down lap with the other Wildcats. I'm in #40, my teammate in #20 finished 2nd.
