Bottom post of the previous page:

Clearly they meant "This summer in Australia", because the McLaren is being released finally on December 8th.

Although it's still been three years since I last iRaced! I plan to come back to it again some day, I guess...I don't feel any strong desire to though.

Update:

Image

Raced in the top split on the finals. Despite getting rear-ended in hairpin on lap 1, at least Mr. Alatalo finished 2nd with my setup

I never gave up either. Feels good, man. Despite the negative atmosphere here, I've found a lot of friends from Club Finland. I've attended our meet-ups for over a year now, and we always have good time. Granted, I still have some issues with my temper, I guess they never go away completely, but I've progressed quite a lot myself. Still in Glacier Racing, and while we just missed the BES Pro series cut-off thanks to a combination of poor car choice and lack of racecraft from other competitors, it was still the most competitive season so far.

It may not be for everyone, but with the right guys, it's more than a game, more than a sim, it's more of a hobby, an adventure.

Thank you! Planning to race the Lotus 79 next year. It's an absolute blast.

iRacing has introduced a lot of new cars recently. It looks well supported on the GT Racing side of things. It's been five years since I last raced iRacing though and I doubt I'll go back to it any time soon. Have tyre models etc. improved much since then? Does the V8SC still drive like a wheelbarrow?

When i look in topics about the tire model in iR, the rant goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on .....

Yeah, the NTM v6 is a very logical model. They've introduced marbles and track heat-up and such in the last build, and DX11 is coming on Tuesday, along with the FR 2.0 and two new GT3 cars (Merc and Audi).

I got the FR 2.0, feels like what the Star Mazda should've been all along, it's very controllable on the throttle from mid corner, and catchable if you push it too far.

LMP1 is actually not confirmed yet, but makes sense considering the current prototype (HPD ARX) is quite old and an LMP2. The Audi will most likely be announced later in the year, possibly to be released before the inaugural Le Mans 24h team event on iR.

One thing I did notice from that video was that our (well, Glacier's) Audi GT3 got a nice bit of screen time at the 1:50 mark. Looks like the footage is from the Monza Blancpain Series race, and it's Elomaa behind the wheel. I don't race in the GT3 WCS, but it's always nice to see our team getting a bit of screentime.
