Round 5 Miami - Predict 6 -10 Place Finishers - TALLY
Round 5 Miami - Predict 6 -10 Place Finishers - TALLY
Hi Friends -
Just giving this a try, not sure if it will be good but it's all simple. Rather than picking the top finishers, let's try the 6th to 10th placers.
To make the points calculation (simple for me) You only get the reward points for the exact place finished. Ex; if you chose Alonso to place 6th but he placed 5th or 7th, you won't get points.
Edit ; You will get reward 1 point for every driver that end in the 6th -10th place even not in the exact place predicted.
For drivers chosen who couldn't participate the race due to reasons like Covid etc., the last minute substitute will be the automatic replacement for your driver of choice.
Points rewarded = 3 points per correct place finishers totaling 15 points per race
Last accepted or edited predictions will be before FP3 Saturday. As this does not apply to Sprint races, whenever there's a Sprint race, the last accepted prediction will be right after FP1. This timing difference will be a bit tough for my region so I will leave it up to you guys to keep it reasonable.
I hope I am writing this clear enough for you people , pardon my English as it is not my mother tongue
Edit ;
For Miami this weekend, whoever gets the closest prediction on ; Fastest Lap will get a 3 point bonus, 2nd 2 points, and 3rd, 1 point.
Kindly add your Fastest lap prediction
Kindly edit/add your prediction

Im worried that no Mercs in 6-10 with guesses in means they are (both) in the first 5. or maybe both11-20 and my worries are gone!

In my brain, Russell could be 4th and Hamilton at least 11th Maybe that is more how I'd like it to be than reality thoughEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑1 year agoIm worried that no Mercs in 6-10 with guesses in means they are (both) in the first 5. or maybe both11-20 and my worries are gone!

Im banking, even hoping on you miscalculating the points as it is likely the only way I will get any. (I nearly said earn any...)DownForce wrote: ↑1 year agoI'll try to keep my arithmetic correct and not miscalculate the points rewardsEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑1 year ago Norris

This is a nice idea, but can I suggest a scoring mod? It's your game, downforce, so you can do as you see fit, but in my opinion it would improve the game if you awarded one point for each driver who finsihes 6th to 10th, but not in the exact position that was predicted. Like, taking Star's example, if the finish reads 6 Vettel 7 Ricciardo 8 Bottas 9 Magnussen 10 Ocon, she doesn't score at all according to your proposal, but it would still have been an awesome guess! If you only award points for a 'direct hit' then I fear most of us will end up with a zero score most of the time. What do you think, y'all?
Here's my guess:
6 Sainz
7 Alonso
8 Gasly
9 Norris
10 Ricciardo
Fastest Lap: 1'40.888"

Thank you for your suggestion @Michael Ferner
Let me try that. So for each missed prediction that end up in the the 6-10 finish will get 1 point bonus.
Also I will try to come up with different type of bonus points for each round.
So for Miami this weekend, whoever gets the closest prediction on ; Fastest Lap will get a 3 point bonus, 2nd 2 points, and 3rd, 1 point.
Kindly add your Fastest lap prediction
Let's give it a go.
Man that will be a lot of Arithmetic
