I'll give it a 7. One of the points goes to Zandvoort as a track. I really enjoyed seeing a proper, flowing race track without artificial chicanes etc. Another goes to the crowd.

Other than that, the race itself wasn't much to write home about. It had it's moments but nothing special.

Although it is my home track and it looks magnificent, it is a Monaco in the dunes. Barely passing at all. Kudos to Perez. Good for hotlapping, bad for racing.

At least Max won, who is the only one who deserved that win. Bottas' flipping bird to Mercedes was great too. 6 points.

It was entertaining mostly because of the track and this is the first year there. But no passing was a letdown (since they made all those track changes to promote overtaking  ). Will not be rated this high next year (unless very light rain). 7

True but FIA sort of screwed them over by shortening the DRS zone on the main straight. I guess they didn't want to take any chances with DRS on the banking.

Do you think that would have made a difference? The F1 aero makes it near impossible to follow anyone closely on the banking (or any corner). I don't think it would matter.

I said exactly the same to a friend pre race. Surprised we did not see any incidents at the start but good to see Max win at home.... he has owned the place all weekend so thoroughly deserved win.
Also enjoyed Bottas setting FL and making Lewis have to stop again.

A bit dull after the start but it kept me awake until the end. Maybe that was the novelty factor and an expectation of more drama and close battles. A dropped point for the fact Kimi was not racing. Gave it a 6 in the end but probably a 6.5

Well... the banking was intentionally designed so that cars could be driven flat out with DRS open. Yes, I do think it would've made a difference. Not a big one though.

Ok, so I very much enjoyed it because I wanted Max to win and he did. My level of enjoyment was probably an 8 but I scored the race a 6 because that's what I felt the quality of the race deserved objectively.

It did have a home winner, great atmosphere, young guy delivering under the pressure of an entire nation. It had the odd bit of passing thrown in, some hard racing but most of it very fair. It had some really interesting strategy going on.. but overall it wasn't a banger.

It actually felt a lot closer to classic F1, conveniently, as it was on a classic track. Hopefully this is one of the circuits that benefits from the new rules because I like it a lot. To be fair.. if Max had been second I think that he may have had the pace to at least make a battle of it.. but because he was in the lead from the start, it somewhat cooled everything right down.

In summary, I'm happy with how it ended up, but I wasn't jumping up off my couch, so 6. Good.

Atrocious commentary and lack of passing aside there is something entertaining about just watching the cars going round here. Add to that a credible fight for P1 and a new track, lets give it a 7.

5. Added one because it was a "new" and interesting venue. I did like the outside passes in turn 1 and the two different lines that could be used in turn 3.

Anyhow, no fights for the lead. The top five finishers ended the race in the order they qualified. The top three cars lapped the entire field. No particular drama, no red flags, no weird marshaling. Kind of a pretty plain and uneventful race. Lots of orange smoke.

Driver of the race should be Alonso.

3. I literally feel asleep for about 5-10 laps at the 45ish lap mark.

I must have missed something at that point for these scores!

I gave it a 6, I was going to give it a 5 but then I added one for the banking effect which was pretty cool. It reminded me a bit of the banking at Estoril.

The right man won the race in my view but on the whole it was a dull race for the most part. Only Alonso and Perez managed to make it slightly more interesting.
