Pfff, this is a hard one. Unfortunately I cannot deduct -1 for every position Hamilton made up, but that was a pretty cool race.

1. Race was over in T1.
went back to the SPA 24 hours, where there are drivers who know how to race in difficult situations. In contrary to Bottas.

I went 9. It had action and incident, mixed strategy and on track battles (Alonso Vs Hamilton was one of the best I've seen in a while), plus a new winner. I also had a good laugh at Hamilton. Even though he recovered in the end mostly.. being the only guy to take the restart was hilarious.

I'm not going to vote on this one, as it would deserve higher than 1 if not for Lewis being Lewis.

7/10 vote from me. Rain always the joker in the pack. Splendid to see M-B make a bone-stupid call to let Lewis take the 2nd start on INT's but kudos for his recovery to P3. Vettel a good race for A-M. And a brand new, first-time winner in Ocon. All in all, quite entertaining.

7/10. Would have been higher if we got some rain running for more than one lap. Would have been lower if Hamilton won.

9 for me also. It had everything except a pass for the lead (that did not involve an overtake of a car in the pits).
New winner! Yay!
Hard fight for top 5 places!
Crazy T1 crash action!
Mixed up grid!
POINTS for Williams!
That was entertaining all the way through.

I gave it an 8 because the small teams won today. I was happy to see them all celebrating. They deserved a race like this. If Lewis didn’t get on the podium I’d have scored it higher.

A 7 seems fair. There wasn't a whole lot going on between laps 20-45.

Ooooffff. Going to have to think more about this one.
With the stopped red flag (instead of just a restart. WHY NOT A RESTART? WHAT HAPPENED TO RESTARTS?!?! Michael Masi is a tool), it feels like a slightly manufactured result (would you rate a reverse grid race great just because somebody slower won the race?).
But that said, it was Lewis who screwed himself at the start with the tyres. So that's on him and Mercedes.
The race itself was awfully boring for a long time. I swear they were lapping at 2 minutes a lap. It really dragged for a long time. But that said there were some genuinely good parts as well.
Urgh.

8. Actually a good race. Weird, lots of odd stuff, but interesting. For a moment, it actually looked like we have five different cars from four different teams in running for the win.

Yes, it is hard to rate because on the face of it, no one could really overtake. The same race with a Mercedes 1-2 would have been rated a lot lower.MonteCristo wrote: ↑2 years ago Ooooffff. Going to have to think more about this one.

1. First corner pileup
2. Unusual result with a first time winner
3. Weird restart with only one car on the grid
4. Alonso's battle with Lewis (which is worth at least 3 or 4 points in my 8/10 score)
5. Wet
6. Race long battle for the lead, with none of us sure if Ocon could do it or not

I saw a post by Antonov I think who said in the race thread that it was a shame that Max was dragging around a beat up and broken car.
I thought to myself that, sure, it would be nice if he was higher up. But given that someone like Lewis - in the fastest and completely fine car - was struggling to get by, the race would have been incredibly boring if it wasn't for the T1 crash. We're talking 1-2 points levels of boring.
I'm going with a 6.

I went with 9 siply because I enjoyed this one a lot. Oh go on, at least 7 of those 9 I gave it was watching Alonso keeping Hamilton behind him, with some style I might add. I haven't liked Alonso that much in years. Ocon owes Alonso as I said in the race thread, Alpine did the right thing bringing him back to F1, at 40 he's still got it and he showed us just how good he really can be yesterday.
Just so you know, I am a woman
