Drove through the pitlane at 5mph, drove around the track at 5mph, Verstappen and Perez followed suit.

By the time they came to the line to start their final run, Verstappen crossed the line about 1 second before the flag, Perez didn't make it, and everyone's tyres were so cold the only laps they could do were about 1s slower than the previous run.

So Mercedes lock out the front row and have the medium compound start tyre.

I wish the stewards would say they are investigating Lewis for dawdling on the outlap and give him a penalty.

The sad thing is he screwed his own lap by going so slow and having cold tyres himself so he couldnt better his first run time.
Our only hope is that on soft tyres that the two Bulls can jump the Mercs off the start... and get Sergio to take Lewis out!
Hopefully Lewis will get a bit of his own medicine tomorrow as he brakes for T1 and thump up the back.

This was a rather stunningly unexpected result. I mean both Mercedes are comfortably ahead and on medium tires to boot. This sort of makes the race a foregone conclusion. Does it make the season a foregone conclusion? I mean if Mercedes are faster at Hungaroring, a track that traditionally favors Red Bull, but what is the situation for the rest of the season?

Is this just a one-off advantage because of the high heat favoring Mercedes, or is this an indicator of the rest of the season?
