Sorry, sprint QUALIFYING.

Now I have seen it, I don't really get it. I just think it shows we need to cut some of this parc ferme bullshit and give them a choice of tyre compound and fresh tyres for Sunday's Grand Prix.

I'll give it a 6 but it deserves no higher than that.

That way to short to catch any of my attention past the 4th corner. We may need negative numbers

A bit short, but quite enjoyable. Problem is, if they make it longer people will try to change tyres again, so the obvious way to go is to make tyres more durable and ban pit stops, or at least penalize them (say, dock a lap for every stop). DRS is still a problem, but the best overtakes happened without it anyway (as far as I can make out). so I think it's actually superfluous, they should get rid of it. Well, that and get rid of the shouting commentator (I turned down the volume as much as possible, hence I missed a few things but at least it was bearable). Oh, and make the cars lookers again.

Not really sure how to rate it, because I have no yardstick yet. Something between 5 nd 8? Probably more like five.

Erm... depends how I am supposed to look at this. Is this a qualifying session? Then it is obviously an interesting qualifying from that aspect insofar that it's always better than seeing cars doing timed laps on their own. Is it a short race? In that case then it wasn't much of a race and it was over way too soon. I gave it a 5.

1 for me. The format is wrong. They should make qualifying on friday and use the reverse grid for the sprint race which would award points for the championship. A sprint race for grid position won’t work

Disagree. There was a big problem as Friday attendance was not what it should be. Now, this may be only 5% of 10% of the gross revenue of a race weekend for the track, but if you are running a business on the edge of profitability (which most tracks are), then that does make a difference. They needed a proper three-day weekend event, not just a two-day event. Not sure if the sprint race was the best solution, but it is better than no solution.

5. There were both plusses and minusses. I'm not decided yet. There was some decent racing, but if they are going to do a Sprint race, the format should be different. You can definitely tell that the drivers gave up around lap 13 or 14.
