What makes you go "hmmm"?

I think Pat Symonds is right. The cars will be barely any slower. The FIA always predict huge drops in performance with fundamental rule changes, but it never happens that way. The weight increase to 792kg is also not a positive step.

I do think/hope the cars will look a little different (better) than the FIA's show car though.

Oh just the usual "We're doing stuff that's going to revolutionise the sport!" posturing when rules are first announced, followed by the designers overcoming it all.

But in this case at least the underfloor should reduce some of the turbulent air that's the biggest problem.
