Fully expecting Merc to put Bottas for mediums or softs, forcing Max to pit, and leave Lewis out to one stop.
I posted this about 2 laps before Max did his second stop.
If they had done this the very next lap after I posted, Bottas could potentially have jumped Max with the undercut, forcing Red Bull to stay out and fight Lewis, or cede position and have to fight Bottas on equal tyres.
^^^ THAT ^^^ was the call that would have won Mercedes the race.

Another thing that escaped me in the heat of the race was just how good the performance of Sergio was, and the part he had in Mercedes being backed into a one stopper.
At the chequered flag, he was just 8.8 seconds off Verstappen, and less than six behind Hamilton in P2. Remarkable to finish that close to Max with those older hard tyres Sergio was on, Max being on the mediums for his second stint.. Anyone who can finish a race within 6 seconds of Lewis on the same strategy can claim to have done well. The fact that he did so well on his initial tyres to extend that stint well beyond the Mercedes pair and when he did sto was able to la half a second faster than both Hamilton and Bottas, catching them both and making a second stop for either Merc too risky.
It was a great double edged strategy from Red Bull and a brilliant back u effort from Sergio which I think has gone largely unnoticed.
Sergio is certainly fulfilling the role that Gasly and Albon failed miserably to achieve, and as such should I believe be a must to continue for another year at RBR.

Yeah, six races in and Perez has exceeded whatever Gasly & Albon did in that second RBR. He's also taking points away from Bottas when the Finn actually looks competitive. It's safe to say Perez will stay at Red Bull beyond 2021.

Perez is doing what Red Bull need now. In fact pretty much all the new teammate vs established drivers had a good day.

Yeah, Checo is doing great, now that he's getting used to the car. Switching between high and low rake car concepts (and the notoriously mischeivious Red Bull at that) with next to no testing time ahead of the season is a tall order.
Perez said during testing it would take him 6 races to get up to speed. I think both Perez and Red Bull would be content with what's come so far, and what more he can offer.

He better watch out though.
If he gets too good then Helmut Marko will come down like a pile of shit on him.

Speaking of Helmut Marko, someone needs to pull back his mask as far as the elastic allows and snap it back on his face properly so it covers his nose too. #covidawareness #maskup

Yes, I don't know why the authorities turn a blind eye to this.

Agreed. They should really do better to keep an eye out.

From what I've seen, the worst offenders are the one-eyed Max Verstappen fans who think he can't do anything wrong, so they just flaunt the rules.
