What Jarno Trulli? :haha:

Back to serious mode..... 2 years and I reckon he will want out either way. By the end of next year we will likely know what the next dominant car is.... if its a Merc he can put his title count further out of reach, and if he isnt quietly slip out the back door..... either way no doubt with a lucrative Merc Ambassadorial role.

Yea, I don’t if it is 1) two-years and retire, 2) two-years and go to another team, or 3) two-years and re-sign for another two years. I suspect the last option.

And I also don’t think that Jarno is coming back to F1.

I dont see Lewis going to another team if only on the basis of life after F1. Having been linked to Mercedes pretty much all his career from F3 (where he ran Merc power) other than one year in G2, he joined McLaren in their Mercedes owered days before joining Mercedes. He will be u for a very lucrative all 1st class perks, cars etc Ambassadorial role after he hangs up his helmet. I dont see him giving that away for a drive with a new team and environment .... especially prone to political meltdowns and instability. somewhere like Ferrari. Its not like he needs the money, and with drivers salaries set to be capped in the not too distant future... maybe the right time to bail out. The other thing is I believe he has some sort of activism / equality project ongoing with Merc.

But at the end of the day, nowt strange as folk and their choices as they say.

Some say the ghost of the Trulli train still haunts some circuits to this very day...

If Merc struggle with the new regs next year, I could see him calling it after 2023. But if he's happy to re-up now, then I could see him doing it again for 2024-25 if they were winning.

I'm glad he's staying on honestly, I wanna see him beaten. And I wanna see him race with the new regulations.

And then he will probably go off and marry an American, like Prince Harry and Sir Paul McCartney did.

Toto has said that from the conversation they had this will not be his final Merc contract as a driver.... so my bet is a final one year extension to what was signed today. So finishing end 2024.

Well I had to laugh that Merc contemplated trying to keep bottas behind the driver-damaged car in 2nd

Fortunately realised it would be just too ridiculous!
The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless
