So, how much is George Russell being paid? Also, how many years is Bottas's (age 32) multi-year deal?

Thanks. Good for him. Provides the driver and the team with some stability. I am guessing he will leave F1 at the end of that stint.
Well, the whole "he is cursed", "has only bad luck" excuses will be over. He's into the best car on the grid. Even Bottas won 9 races with that team and was often capable of beating Hamilton in qualifying. If Russell won't be able to outpace Perez in the other Red Bull what will be the excuses this time?Circuitmaster wrote: ↑2 years agoI agree that Russell will for the first time have a serious team mate.. but I don't think you could say excuses are over for him. Did he ever really have many excuses..? Did he ever really need them, with piss poor team mates like the ones he's had?
There will be plenty of excuses next year should he fail.. probably more than ever:Vassago wrote: ↑2 years agoWell, the whole "he is cursed", "has only bad luck" excuses will be over. Lots of good news here. I really do think Albon deserves a second chance. Glad he got (maybe) the ride at Williams.Everso Biggyballies wrote: ↑2 years ago Busy day on the driver market.....
Albon to Williams. (yet to be confirmed but going to happen)
I am reading now that Red Bull have (temporarily) released Albon from his contract and he is headed to replace Russell at Williams. Nothing confirmed but announcements to this effect are expected soon.
There are also a number of junior drivers no in a bit of a bidding war to get what few seats are unconfirmed. It seems Latifi and Mazepin are not safe in their seats. Zhou and De Vries are apparently looking good to be in F1 next year
Recommend you read this.... its fairly complicated and lots of names!

I seemed to think de Vries was favourite for that..... but he is a Mercedes Junior so I dont see how that works tbh, although I have even heard of people talking of a Sauber (Alfa) Mercedes tie up. But I have been ignoring that thought as it seems a bit far fetched.

“It is fantastic to be able to confirm our driver line-up for 2022 and I am delighted to be welcoming Alex to the team, along with confirming our continued relationship with Nicholas into next year,” said Williams CEO Jost Capito.
“We are extremely excited by our new line-up, with both drivers bringing a great blend of youth and experience that will not only be a great fit for the team but also help us take the next step in our journey.
“Alex is one of the most exciting young talents in motorsport, yet comes with a large amount of F1 experience from his time at Red Bull. His multiple podium finishes highlight his speed as a driver, and we know he will immediately feel at home with the team at Grove.
“Nicholas meanwhile has consistently impressed us over the past three years with his hard work, diligence, and positive attitude. He has continued to develop throughout his time at Williams and has grown into an impressive F1 driver, as seen by his points scoring finishes this season.
“We are now looking forward to continuing to build on our positive momentum as a team and finishing this season as strongly as possible, before turning our attentions to 2022.”
Seems so, all those drivers vying for one seat...... who will win it?
