This topic needs an update as things have been changing as the newer drivers become more accustomed to their teams. Personally I still think it reinforces the lack of pre-season testing. The French Grand Prix has reached a new high for the new drivers, with results as follows:

Red Bull - Perez behind Verstappen but getting closer, beating a Mercedes.
McLaren - Ricciardo one place behind Norris but was ahead for most of the race.
Ferrari - Sainz beats Leclerc.
Alpine - Alonso beats Ocon.
Aston Martin - Vettel beats Stroll.
