perhaps it also needs to be pointed out that 'people of colour' (please don't call me racist...) seem to be more susceptible for being confronted with more severe illness and after-effects.
It is not racist to say that people who are black or asian are more susceptible to long covid or a more likely to have severe problem with it when they catch it, that is just a fact.

Less are vaccinated. And because of their social situation, a lot of the so called "coloured people" live with their families in small houses or apartments. For them there is no chance to keep 6ft separation.

Now it's Kimi Raikkonen who has tested positive. Apparently he'll be replaced by Robert Kubica for this race!!
No symptoms at all either.
Speedy and full recovery to Kimi.
(I sometimes wonder about the accuracy of these instant result tests, but I am sure that if you get a positive result they do a secondary test to confirm.)
Alfa Romeo said in its own statement that Raikkonen is “displaying no symptoms and is in good spirits”.
And yes re Kubica, he is taking over ... he will probably DNF on the last lap as he (his shared car anyway) did at the LM24 recently.
“He has immediately entered isolation in his hotel,” the team added. “The team has carried out an investigation for any close contacts and there is no further impact expected for the team for the remainder of this event.”
Alfa Romeo reserve driver Kubica will step into the cockpit and make his first F1 start since his final appearance for Williams at the end of the 2019 season, as confirmed by the team shortly before FP3.

Jost Capito is staying away from Zandvoort in isolation and wont be at the track after having been in close contact with Kimi. They had dinner together Friday night.
No positive test result but just a responsible preventative step for the team safety. I guess he will run it all from his hotel room via phone / zoom or whatever..

he must have it bad then...
Not necessarily. He's just not free of the virus yet.

I posted this in the Turkish Gp thread, but as it relates to F1 personnel with Covid it should be mentioned here as well....
During pre-event testing before they travelled to Istanbul, it was revealed that both Medical car driver Alan van der Merwe and doctor Ian Roberts had been struck down with and tested positive to COVID-19.
So F1 will have a replacement medical car crew at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.

Leclerc becomes the first driver to get COVID twice
Charles Leclerc has tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
According to a team statement posted on Twitter, Leclerc is suffering from mild symptoms but "feeling fine" and will self-isolate at home.
The team tweeted: "Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow driver Charles Leclerc has tested positive for COVID-19.
"In accordance with protocols required by FIA and the team, Charles was tested on his return from Abu Dhabi.
"He is currently feeling fine, with mild symptoms and will self-isolate at home."
Leclerc is yet to comment on his positive test,..... his last social media post yesterday said he was going to Maranello to prepare for the 2022 season.....
We also had Mazepin miss Abu Dhabi having been tested and found to be positive on race day.
Not mentioned in this thread was Kimi missing Monza having contracted in the week prior.
Williams team boss Jost Capito tested positive the previous week, forcing his absence from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Meanwhile F1 sporting director Steve Nielsen admitted that he's "worried" about the potential impact of the return of tighter COVID-19 restrictions worldwide on next year's schedule.
The new Omicron variant in recent weeks has led to countries re-instating some restrictions as cases in the UK soar, with a record 88,376 new positive test results recorded on Thursday.

Rafael Nadal, although not an F1 driver, has tested positive after returning from Abu Dhabi.
I'm sure there was another celebrity, apart from Charles Leclerc, who did after returning from the UAE.
Seems like another hotspot for infections, while the official numbers are very low.
How is this possible? What's going on there?
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

Add Danny Ric to the list.He tested positive at Bahrain testing.
After missing two days of testing feeling unwell, and despite previous multiple negative tests Danny will miss final day in Bahrain after a positive COVID test.
He has tested positive for COVID-19 and must isolate before being released in time to compete in the season opening 2022 Formula 1 GP at Bahrain next week.
