Good call to get it out if the way now. Need all the recovery time you can get.

Just waiting for Bottas to get it, miss a couple of races and then be ultra shit all season whilst recovering, and the Lewis fans claiming it's his best season yet.

If Bottas gets it, won't they put Russel in the car? Finally a real test for Lewis. Now that would be the best season ever!

Honestly, I don't think he would be *that much* competition for Lewis in a first full Merc season. Russell might beat him a couple of times on merit, and a few times more when Lewis gets hit with bad luck. But I don't think Russell is enough of a finished product to sustain any meaningful challenge.

Agreed but I do think George would be more than a challenge than Bottas.

Oh I agree with that too. Saw direct evidence of that in that one race.

Especially a decent performance from George given he was driving a car tailored for, by comparison, a midget with small feet! ISTR George had to squeeze into shoes much smaller than his usual size12s to get his feet anywhere near to the pedals.

And was consistently getting coaching to understand how to get the most out of the car.

Let's not forget Hamilton can lose his mind a bit and starts making mistakes when he gets challenged, especially by a strong team mate.

So current count:

Out of 20 drivers: 6 (Perez, Stroll, Hamilton, Norris, Le Clerc, Gasly) = 30%
Out of 10 team principals: 3 (Big Daddy Stroll, Toto Wolff, Vasseur) = 30%

Not exactly the most disciplined and responsible group of people.

You forgot Simon Roberts of Williams (Took over as Team Principal after the team was sold) who missed the Turkish GP with it.
So that takes it to 40% for TP's.
Plus there have been a large number of unnamed team personnel who have tested positive.
