A bit of a hiccup for him in F2 today but I agree. He 'seems' good.
But then I had high hopes for Tsunoda too, but he seems a bit erratic. Seems to be settling down a bit though.

So little running time for the kids we should probably judge later. Look at the improvement from Gio this season. He's finally finished off KimiEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑2 years agoA bit of a hiccup for him in F2 today but I agree. He 'seems' good.

The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless

I do think they should have an extra day in pre season, even two for rookies, maybe those in year 2 as well

Totally agree. Dozens of hours in a simulator do not make up for the lack of bum in seat thrashing around for real sort of stuff.

They should do it just for the safety aspect. The 3 rookies were all over the place early onEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑2 years agoTotally agree. Dozens of hours in a simulator do not make up for the lack of bum in seat thrashing around for real sort of stuff.

Just as I was thinking that perhaps Tsunoda had settled down a bit, and I wondered if it had anything to do with the AT team relocating him to live in Italy where he was more under their eye, and where he’s been put on a strict programme which sees him training twice a day along with meetings with engineers.Everso Biggyballies wrote: ↑2 years ago
..... But then I had high hopes for Tsunoda too, but he seems a bit erratic. Seems to be settling down a bit though.
Danny Ric has come up with some advice for Yuki in a similar vein, basically saying to pull your head in on the freedom / distractions thoughts and leave that for later when more established. Makes sense when you realise these guys are kids just gaining their freedom....
Having been through the Red Bull driver programme himself, Danny can relate to the experience Tsunoda is currently having.
Anyway, Danny's words of advice:
“The one thing that stands out is his discipline, like sticking to the path, I guess, is the easiest thing,” Dannyexplained.
“For sure, when you leave home there’s distractions; whether it’s distractions, temptations, I don’t know, you have your freedom.
“Especially at a young age it can be, it’s kind of always what you dreamed of – ‘I want to get away from home and have the ability to do what I want’.
“But these are obviously bad distractions,” he added.
“I think if you stay on the path then you can enjoy these even greater freedoms down the track, and then the reward is worth it and it’s even bigger, and it’ll pay off.
“So I think just sticking to the path, stay disciplined, avoid distractions.
“I’ll probably be a distraction at some point saying, ‘Hey, you should come to this party,’” he joked.
“But you have plenty of time.”
