Machinery is almost 80% of your speed. Then talent.... But Albers is not the talent like Max.
If i look to all Dutch drivers, i would rate Jeroen Bleekemolen, Renger van der Zande and Giedo van der Garde very high.

Shall we have separate threads per race weekend again?
Or one large thread for all races of the 2021 season?
In my decade and a half here we have always done individual threads per GP, and I see no reason to change.
If it aint broke dont fix it.
My opinion of course

George Russell has become a new director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, following the departure of Romain Grosjean, who held the position for many years prior to his departure from F1 to Indycar.. George was nominated to replace Romain by fellow drivers.
GR will work alongside fellow director Sebastian Vettel and chairman Alex Wurz on the body, which represents the interests of all F1 drivers on the grid.
Grosjean may have stood down from being a Director of the GPDA, but he has agreed to remain on as an advisor for 2021 to help finish the ongoing work he is conducting on safety and lessons learned from his fiery crash at last year’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

Somehow or the other, that seems like something George Russell would do. Good for him.
Yes I believe that he commented along the lines of being honoured that his fellow drivers feel he was their preferred choice to do the job and thus nominated him. It is indeed the ultimate acceptance and credibility from those you compete against to be put forward in that way.
(By the same token I always smiled at the thought of Grosjean being the GPDA drivers rep!)

Just posting this here because I posted the article in a more obscure part of the forum and I felt some might miss it there.
You Want to Know the Real Pierre?
This is one of the best written accounts of an F1 driver and what goes through their mind I have ever read. It covers aspects of Pierre's life including his best friends crash and subsequent death . It also goes into their friendship and now I know the extent length and depth of that friendship..... lets say its a bit lump in the throat stuff. Plus of course his Monza race win and him being dumped from Red Bull.
It has actually made me see much of those events in a different light and my respect for Gasly has been multiplied. It shows some of the highs in lows of life as an F1 driver. And I think it is beautifully written.
Ted Kravitz just said on his notebook "I was going to tell you what happened to Ceeeril, but I'll save that for another notebook as it's a great story. Very mysterious"
Anybody got the gossip?

I thought that he was actually got rid off by someone at the top of Renault, who had got lots of other senior newbies involved and it was felt someone had to be made accountable for Renault only finishing 5th last year. Ceeeril was in effect the scapegoat. I think his case was not helped by him originally being a 'Ghosn' man and the new Renault (as opposed to Alpine) head honcho was keen to flush out all of the Ghosn influences.
Whether he was given a walk before we push you option is also a possibility, because from memory we were told he left of his own volition.
I may be wide of the mark but that was my understanding.
