He wasnt taken to the olympics team, that was why he went motor racing IIRC.

He messed up his final Olympic trial and only just missed out. He was a reserve though.

Andrew Ridgley (The other half of WHAM with George Michael) after the band split up ran in F3 for a while. Seem to recall he whammed a few barriers.

Scott Stringfellow of the famous celeb night club of the same name in London runs in lots of events of different categories.

Cozy Powell, the drummer from Whitesnake, Jeff Beck Band, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Emerson, Lake & Powell, Black Sabbath, and the Brian May Band, and many others....plus he sessioned with just about every big band and name in the world of rock from the sixties until his death in a road car crash in 1998. He even came close to a #1 record with a record that was basically a drum solo (‘Dance With the Devil’). He was also in the Guinness Book of Records as the worlds fastest drummer...
Anyway Cozy raced in Touring Cars in the mid 1970's, particular in Production Saloons when he ran a Mazda RX3 under the Hitachi Racing banner (a car I built and ran) He also had a tasty Ferrari Dino 246 road car I was going to buy in 1976 for ₤2000, and I knocked it back because it needed 2 tyres for an MOT test.
Image pic © Alan Cox RIP Cozy.

http://www.cozypowell.com/sounds.html plenty of clips with Brian May and all of the above etc

Oh yeah, there is some old bloke called Paul Newman who has made a few films, the odd salad dressing, and owns half of Newman Haas. He has raced successfully with a few Championships and a Rolex 24 hr to his credit

Cool, I never knew Cozy Powell did racing! According to Wikipedia, he died in a crash on the M4 motorway, while he was talking to his girlfriend on a mobile phone. :sorrow:

They've very, very recently changed the law on mobile phones. They've doubled the penalty fine for talking on a mobile while driving from £30 to £60 and you also get 3 points on your licence. 2 or 3 years ago, it wasn't illegal to talk on your mobile phone while driving at all.

I had watched a 'documentary' once where they compared drunken driving with driving while on the mobile. Mobiles caused many more errors during the test!
