Indeed. Red Bull issued a statement and said that an external barrister had been appointed to probe the complaints,.....it emphasised it was taking the matter seriously. I notice it says complaints plural, so not a one off drunken moment at the Christmas Party..

Red Bull did not detail the nature of the allegations, but Horner himself has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

A statement issued by the Red Bull company on Monday said: "After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation.

"This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.

"The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."

Speaking to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Horner said: "I completely deny these claims."

According to the report, Max Verstappen’s boss and F1 World Champion team boss, Horner is being investigated by his employer Red Bull over “alleged inappropriate behaviour towards a colleague” which reportedly the company’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has taken a personal interest in.

An external barrister has been brought in by the team to investigate the matter independently, which suggests it is contentious. Time will tell if it will cost Horner his job or if he will be suspended until the case is resolved.

I am not sure that I understand it. Mintzlaff has take personal interest in the case, or he is interested in a person who submitted complain against Horner.

This story is picking up on speed by an hour. Horner claimed that it was (likely) an inside job to get him of the pedestal.

We have to wait. Rumors are getting too wild.

Or it makes perfect sense in wake of the Albon return rumours. I suggested Max might be flexing his inside muscles in wake of let's say "Senna doesn't want Warwick" mode and suddenly Horner looks vulnerable for alleged social misconduct which indicates the established power order within the team might about to change...

Yea, all that, but why now? Timing... Somebody wants to create trouble for Max. The alledged incident happened end of last year, if I am not mistaken.

Funnily enough I was going to mention in my first post about this that he would have been asked to step down or would have been suspended pending the enquiry if they felt there was some substance or obvious evidence of whatever the claims being made are. Anyway it seems he has rejected the RB advice to do so. Not sure whether its a smoke / fire situation but I just hope its nothing disturbing and indeed it goes away without escalation.

F1 doesnt need any more controversy at the moment.
