Lol. Lewis is under investigation for a pit lane infringement to be heard post race. It seems some of the Merc pit crews were not wearing the required headgear or eye protection. It seems Alpine re under investigation for the same reason.

Can you imagine losing second place in the WCC over that!.


Perez has been given a 5 second penalty for causing a collision. Something to do with Lando or a McLaren anyway. I think that a bit tough as on replay they were both on completely different lines. It was equally evident Lando turned in on Sergio who was fully alongside.

The Stewards have been at the sparkling apple juice I think.

Sergio blows past George and so has 4 laps to gap GR by 5 secs if he wants to stand on the podium.

Dull end to a horrifically boring season, one of the worst since 2002.

3 laps left. These pit stop laws are such crap. Sainz has driven all race on a set of tyres but has to stop.

Clever ploy by FErrari to try and help Red Bull pass Merc which in turn would have helped Ferrari in their ploy to close the points gap on Merc. Didnt quite work but clever.

Brilliant race from Yuki to do a one stopper... his tyres were so shot at the end he could not defend against the DRS equipped Lewis on the final lap..... Lewis overcooked his pass and Yuki gave Lewis the over and under and beat Lewis in the sprint to the line.

Mercedes ended up 3 points clear of Ferrari for 2nd in the WCC.
McLaren ended up 20 points clear of Aston for 4th in the WCC.

Alonso pipped Leclerc for 4th in the WDC as well I think on podium countback... both had 2 x 2nds so Nando got it on more 3rd place podiums than CLAP..

Yuki Tsunoda got the F1 Driver of the Day award. Quite happy with that as I thought he did really well in the race and also a brilliant qualifying effort.

All 10 team managers were required to report to the stewards, who ultimately deemed that while “numerous breaches” likely occurred, video evidence proved insufficiently clear.

No penalties were awarded but all teams were asked to “stress the importance of eye protection for all personnel working on a car” and “ensure that this Article is respected by all team members in the future.”

“Having received reports from the Race Director and viewed video evidence, written reports from Pit Marshals and heard from each of the Team Representatives, the Stewards determine that numerous breaches of Article 34.13 appear to have occurred however the video evidence was in some cases insufficiently clear to determine where for example, a visor was open, the team member concerned may have been wearing glasses or other eye protection,” the stewards noted.

“Notwithstanding, there were numerous examples of eye protection not being used.”
