Only one empty seat left at Project 1.

Times from pre-season test at Red Bull Ring.

Looks like the second Project 1 seat is between Esteban Muth and Dev Gore.

Attempto Racing rebranded as Tresor Orange1 has returned with two Audi cars after fielding one last season. Mattia Drudi and Patric Niederhauser are the drivers. Expect them to be stuck down in the field tbh.

I wonder if Audi's rumoured decision to shut down the customer support for 2024 means they are simply rolling out whatever is left in the warehouse for one last season instead of sending it to junkyard.

Mirko Bortolotti won the first Oschersleben practice ahead of Mercedes trio Schumacher, Auer & Engel. Kelvin vd Linde as the best Audi in 5th, Sheldon vd Linde the best BMW in 8th. 26 of 27 cars within one second, the only one oustide was surprise, surprise Alessio Deledda.

Bortolotti is an easy pick for a first time DTM winner, he had a bunch of podiums and Top 5s but is yet to win one of these races.

Schubert BMW 1-2 in the second practice. Since ADAC has taken back the series they seemingly went back to the old DTM style door numbers again:

Franck Perera won the season opener from pole. Sim racer Heinemann and Jack Aitken on the podium. Undercut was very efficient and Mirko Bortolotti who was the last to pit dropped from 2nd to 8th as a result. I expect teams adjusting their pit windows tomorrow.

Many bad pitstops during the race including for Sheldon van der Linde and both Manthey Porsches. VD Linde was one of 8 retirements along with Wittmann and Maini.

The stupid "mechanics have to hold tires in the air" rule that cost Thomas Preining victory in the second Oschersleben race has been dropped. Good riddance. The pit box "long lap" penalty is still quite curious since it costs the penalised driver enormous ammount of time for sure.

I must admit I have not followed DTM much of late since they stopped live coverage here and coverage seemed limited, but reading this made me actually search my TV guide for any info.... found the have Highlights of Oschersleben in the guide and available to stream on the 'Bein Sport" channels.... A bit surprised tbh but its on my watchlist now. I always thought they were more soccer /tennis focussed so never bothered to look whats on. I will now get back into it a bit more now I know at can stream it at will.

Good! Could not for the life of me understand what that penalty was for at the time. That said, Preining looks like the man to beat this season.

Yeah, Preining was one of my locks for Top 5 finish in the standings, maybe even Top 3. It's still hard to figure out who the outright championship favorite should be. It will probably come down to consistency and avoiding "bad" weekends.

Sadly i was not able to watch anything of the DTM this weekend. Geo blocked and VPN did now work.

Maro Engel dominated the Zandvoort Race 1 and won by six seconds. Sheldon vd Linde finished 2nd ahead of Perera & Bortolotti Lambos.

David Schumacher had another stinker, making contact on the opening lap and getting a DNF puncture. If his last name wasn't what it is, he'd be nowhere near a Winward Mercedes ride (basically #1 brand team in the series given Lucas Auer is his teammate).

Just checked to see when the highlights for Zandvoort were on only to be told DTM is now being shown live, not in highlights form!. Too late for race 1 yesterday, but they have replays ready to stream. Im just watching the 2nd Oschersleben race atm and Zandvoort is queued up for after that.

It gets even better.... Just noticed also that they are even showing qualy live for race 2 shortly. Its on at 17:10 here so must be an early start for them at Zandvoort. 9:10 am(?). So yeah, very impressed with beIN Sports.

Yeah, the DTM is streaming the races live, with ADAC taking over the series again it wasn't entirely certain that would be the case like in the ITC era.

It's 10:00 am CET and the ADAC GT4 Race 2 is ready to start. That is streamed live on the ADAC Motorsports YT channel (with commentary).
