Jack Doohan did it again at Spa..... 2nd was Pourchaire and 3rd the tiny man himself , Enzo Fittipaldi

As a result Pourchaire leads the championship

Bortoleto wraps up 2023 F3 title in Monza qualifying


And all before a race was even run or won this weekend...... such has been his lead that one of the two other mathematical chances had to snag the two points awarded for getting pole. Those two half chances were Paul Aron and Pepe Marti, with either needing t pole position to be in with a super slim shot at the title.

But after a much-interrupted qualifying session which saw three red flags before being ended prematurely, Bortoleto was crowned champion as his own team-mate Oliver Goethe secured pole for Sunday’s race. Aron qualified 3rd with Marti way down in 16th. Botoleto qualified 5th.

Botoleto might have clinched the title pre race, but the Championship runner-up and places are yet to be decided, with Aron, Marti, Zak O’Sullivan and Franco Colapinto all within six points of each other and very much in the run for the 'best loser' tag..

The F3 title might be done and dusted but the F2 one is not. Pourchaire looking strong though after a decent haul of points at Monza.. He was the only one of the top 10 other than feature race winner Bearman to get points in both Sprint and Feauture races

The battle for 2nd (or 1st loser) is a bit tighter though.

Have to say though that becoming an F2 title winner last year was no guarantee of an F1 drive. Pourchaire of course is aligned with Sauber.... but he has Zhou as an obstacle to him if only from 'Joe's' enormous wallet.

Just one round left at Abu Dhabi. A fair gap until that..... November 25-26

In case someone missed it, here's the Ukyo Sasahara & Hiroki Otsu crash from Suzuka this morning. Sasahara's car flew over the 130R wall and rolled down the hill towards Degner 1. He only suffered a concussion.

I hope he has bought a lottry ticket after surviving something of that scale relatively unscathed.
