And it's not terrible.

Hmm. Actually, I think it's forgettable. Formulaic. A band running out of ideas. A great pity. :(

Personally I lost interest in Metallica after 1990. Master of Puppets was their highlight in my mind. This sounds like an early 80s style song, power/speed metal=ish, but with a very clean commercial production. I'm not sure what happened to James' voice, it sounds computer generated.

But they clearly have a lot of succes, so who am I to complain? I just like bands more when they are still original, raw and "niche".

I think Lux Æterna is pretty good. Screaming Suicide is, despite the theme, not very interesting.

I agree that as it is, the songs for 72 Season so far (and Hardwired) are not really pushing any boundaries. It's something they have probably just embraced, being around 60 years of age, have had all the success in the world, and at this point make music because they can, with very little pressure.

I hope there's going to something out of the box, but I'm not holding my breath over it.

Agree, it is not very original.

Rammstein are pushing 60 and are still able to be creative. I really need to see them live sometime.

I have seen them in 2019 and last year. They are an absolute blast live. I hope to still see them again this year, but I happen to be on vacation when they're in The Netherlands. Who knows.

Zeit is a quite good album, albeit I have a slight preference over their previous record. I agree they do still feel like they have something worth saying.

Ah yes, Rammstein, one of my all-time favorite bands. Richard (and Daron from System of a Down) are the main reasons why I picked up a guitar.
yes, I am the NASCAR flip list guy...

It reminded me of Kill 'Em All and that's not a bad thing.

I don't know if some of you listened to 'If Darkness Had A Son'... if you haven't, DO NOT ATTEMPT.

If I wasn't convinced they no longer have it, I am now. The intro is excessively long, riffs are dull, the solo is lame. The only decent thing was the riff before the solo but other than that... it is really bad.

You have good taste in music, Sir! They're my wife's favourite band

Actually the band who seems to be coming out with the most interesting, diverse music at the moment seems to be Ghost. It's quite poppy but popular with metal fans for some reason.
