Théo Pourchaire, the 2023 Formula 2 champion, expressed his disappointment at not securing a Formula 1 seat
I can understand his mood, but for him to secure a seat, someone has to move out. F1 is a really small club. Who should be let go? Bottas? Zhou?

https://www.si.com/fannation/racing/f1b ... %20driver.
Zhou is said to bring in 30 million Euros a year in backing. Very compelling reasons for him to stay. In addition his family are a HUGE automotive reseller in China (large enough I have read, to have an annual turnover of c30 billion Chinese Yuan. (about 6 billion A$)
My question related to replacement theory in the earlier post was merely rhetorical as response to Théo Pourchaire.

Zhou has his contract only for next year, and we will see then what's next for him. Audi has marketing interest in China, and Zhou may fit in for a year or two as part of the start-up operations. Once there is a chance to fight for the podium, all will change.

More of an explanation and a somewhat cryptic hint of it being renamed again, but that it wont be a short name. :omg:

The revised name is still to be finalised....

However I also. believe that as last year with the reference to the online gambling Stake brand, for some races that will be absent and the name will be Kick.com focussed due to the local legal issues in some areas re promoting online gambling. Last year they ran without Stake decals and not entered as Stake Alfa Romeo F1 at Austin, Belgium and Qatar. (yet they did run as Stake Alfa Romeo at Miami (Florida) and Vegas (Nevada) where State gambling laws are presumably more relaxed than Austin (Texas)

"... we're on a mission to unleash the most exciting team identity this team has ever seen."

* shakes head *

Was a time when teams were on a mission to win races. Seems all they can produce now is corporate gibberish

"We dramatically deploy parallel virtualization to uniquely streamline resource-maximizing testing procedures with dynamically brand transparent models that will eventually uniquely iterate low-risk high-yield human capital through our synergistically disintermediated premium technologies to phosfluorescently develop hyper-scale sprints and continually cultivate process-centric 'outside the box' thinking!"

In other words, go to hell.

Following article addresses why team's name will change during a season.
Sauber set to change team name regularly in 2024
Kick here, Kick there is fundamentally gambling operation, and in some countries gambling on that scale is illegal.
'Brands alternate'
"The team name, as per the FIA Entry List published earlier this morning, is Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber," the team informed this site. "The brands will alternate based on legislation and marketing decisions by the team - as we have already done in 2023."

AAB - decent expansion of our team on operations in all directions, including workforce.
"We started our journey in 2017 when I joined the team with Fred Vasseur. We were around 220 people, and we have reached more than 500 people this year, and we will take a step in terms of headcount also next year.
https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/10102 ... ?rt_feed=1

I hope it will show on results in next campaign. It's not going to be easy at all.

Sauber will receive in price money (y 2023) about € 62 MM, which is about half what RBR has coming to them. Where is the promissed profit?

BOTTAS: I DEFINITELY WANT TO BE A PART OF THE AUDI F1 PROJECT
https://www.grandprix247.com/2023/12/27 ... 1-project/

Big Question: Would Valtteri Bottas be a good pick for Audi’s first chapter in F1?

A few names of potential candidates (my choices):

Sebastian
Zhou
Bottas
Mick
Nico
Théo Pourchaire

I don't see any American who would be interested / suited / available.

Audi is focusing on Chinese, European and American markets. Seb and Zhou could be good pairing for maiden voyage. Problem is, Seb is not anymore interested in development projects. He wants a car with potential to reach podium, should he come back. It was said that about 14 drivers will have their contract expire by the end of 2024. Audi should be able to find someone who can drive a race car.

Somewhat surprising move (at least for me). It left me wondering how much influence Alfa will be able to exert on team's management for next two years. From other articles I gather the team is in intensive consultation with Audi already. Despite that, I am not sure who calls the shots. Logical choice would be AAB and Andreas, but that's my guess only. What is Alfa getting out of it is not clear. Maybe a decal on the car?

Calling it Stake would be a mis-Stake.

Stake F1 Team will "mark the beginning of a brand new, dynamic and exciting era – one that breaks away from conventional concepts of sports and entertainment sponsorship."
How conventional.

New identity:

Image
F1 Social

I am not sure if this is all done to impress young audience (and drop the old one), or this is a case of a guy with money whistling his tune. It is probably redundant to mention that I know nothing much about his world, beautiful as it might be. (Too old for that kind of music.)
